thx

this is a good quote...

"Nintendo will win the next-gen console wars, because the Revolution is the only next-gen console being made."

IGN has a little news bit with game devs talking about the controller

Revolution Controller: Japanese Creators Speak

Good news for the flow of games when the revolution is released :D

Yeah I saw that article. Looks good for Nintendo :D

BTW: Nintendo really should release some more info on the system soon.. everyone's talking about the Xbox 360 and most likely Sony will soon reveal more info on the PS3, both of which are taking away attention from the Nintendo "Revolution" at the moment.

Well, considering that xbox360 is coming out in a month, everyone talking about it is normal. Nintendo doesnt really need to keep revealing things, they dont want to jump the gun really. They sat on their controller secret for the longest time, and when they finally revealed it, it was huge... I really like the mystery of nintendo =P

Well well well, all looks good on the Nintendo front :D

360 talk is normal...same with PS3. I can't wait for Nintendo to finalise their hardware...they said they'd finally show us some In-Game screenies on finalised hardware. I've heard some intresting tidbits on the graphics for Revo...I heard its ditching polygons for something else, something that allows greater visuals on lesser hardware. So I'm definately intrested to see how much Nintendo blows us away ;)

Hmm, an interesting observation. Ninendo definately brought enough changes worth talking about because look at global figures...Gamecube isn't doing too well, and Xbox and PS have a larger fan[boy] base...despite that both globally and most likely on Neowin, look at how much longer the Revolution thread is than the others. At least they got people talking, which may very well work out in the end.

Ahhh, the wonderful power of Hype and Mystery :)

Nintendo are masters at it.

Has anyone here seen the IGN Live Next Gen Console Panel, in particualar the part with the "head" of Epic Games - he rips right into Nintendo Revolution. Beside that its actually an intertesting clip. *At about 6 mintues that when they start talking about Revolution*

I attended IGN Live '05. It was great

wow that head of epic is really hard headed and annoying.

Just finished watching the video, and damn, he was just too friggin annoying. If I was Matt, I would have told him to shut up, and to not interrupt people like that. Everyone was polite and everything, but he just kept bashing and interrupting like a kid (sorry to all kids out there for the insult). And yeah, whatever respect I had for Epic, it's just lost because of one guy.

He's right though.

Take if or what it is worth, who knows if it is true or not:

In a recent interview to Meristation.com (online Spanish magazine), Jim Merrick from NoE has confirmed the chat function in Mario Kart DS:

Quote (translated):

If you don't know the people you are playing with, you won't be able to chat with them, to protect the privacy of the young users. On the other hand, if you play against a friend you'll be able to chat. Every DS has a MAC code, and you'll have to give this code to your friends to be able to play and chat with them.

Some other interesting bits concerning DS and Revolution:

- NoE will set up over 25,000 hotspots across Europe

- The USB Wi-fi adapter will available on Nov 25th at 39.95 ?. This adapter will also be compatible with Revolution.

- Revolution will launch worlwide within 14 weeks maximum, that means on the same quarter in every region.

- Multiplayer mode in Revolution will be similar to the NDS: multiple players with only one copy of the game.

- You'll be able to download retro games from different regions (for instance, an European user could download Super Mario RPG for the SNES from the US server).

- When played on Revolution, N64 games will have better framerate but there won't be significant graphical improvements.

- No Revolution games will be shown in 2005.

- There won't be any significant differences in the graphics of Revolution compared to the other systems

Cool, almost everything sounds feasible, except (to me at least) the part where you need to give your MAC address to people to chat (just doesn't go with Nintendo's bow to simplicity), as well as the graphics being comparable to the other systems. Granted, since it prolly won't be high-def the system might have a better use for resources, but I think all we Rev lovers have accepted the fact that the other consoles will have a lot more processing power, since it's not Revolution's focus.

EDIT: Just read the actual article, and he says developers already have fully functional dev kits  And yes, the whole article seems legitimate after reading it.

    • Seems like Neowin has transitioned into being simps for the white house. I can't find a review for the last UFC games that came out.
