- There won't be any significant differences in the graphics of Revolution compared to the other systems

By this, does he mean Next-Gen consoles or this gen consoles?

And, considering theres a difference between the PS3 and X-Box 360, will it be in-between the two?

Cool, almost everything sounds feasible, except (to me at least) the part where you need to give your MAC address to people to chat (just doesn't go with Nintendo's bow to simplicity), as well as the graphics being comparable to the other systems. Granted, since it prolly won't be high-def the system might have a better use for resources, but I think all we Rev lovers have accepted the fact that the other consoles will have a lot more processing power, since it's not Revolution's focus.

Actually you give your friends a unique number, like you would a phone or ICQ number. They want to allow people to use any name they want when playing games so this seems the most logical way of doing so.

In terms of graphical power, that has yet to be seen, Nintendo is so sketchy on that. I can see them being able to compete with the Xbox360 and PS3 at a standard 480p resolution, but above that resolution is where the Revolution can't compete because they are not going HD. If the GameCube can do Resident Evil 4 type graphics and the Revolution is supposedly 2-3x more powerful, I definitely won't have a problem with it.

Me neither. It's like when I played F-Zero GX, at some point I said to myself, do I really NEED better graphics than this ?

Wow... you underestimate... only 2-3X more power over a more than 4 year old system... I take it your ignoring Moore's Law altogether. It will compare like this: PS2 was geforce 2 MX, GC was geforce 2 gts, and xbox is geforce 2 TI. (the gts and ti are on a par level, but the ti has a higher frequency, can pump same filters, but a little faster... mx is just plain cheap but will play the same games slightly uglier).

Now nextgen is coming, I'm gonna use a comparison everyone can relate too: Xbox is gonna be ati 9700 pro, first to come out, very powerful. Then nintendo will be 9600 XT, almost as powerful as 9700 pro, can make all the same games look just as good... sometimes you have to drop your resolution lower than a 9700 pro to get the same framerate. And PS3 will be 9800 XT - costs way too much money just to get a slight graphical advantage over the other two...

That's how it will be. Don't question me.

As long as you know you're most likely wrong, no problem. Its not even worth thinking about what the systems will be like until all three of them are out with a decent line of games that take full advantage of the power.

Except for your first sentence where you completely ignored what you quoted, yes I agree with you.

While Nintendo won't be exactly using a 9600XT (just to point that out to the idiots), good analogy. Difference is, the Nintendo's GFX card is supposed to be fine-tuned to be lower yet just as good at the same time. But you can't really put that into an analogy without it being kinda complex.

Since when I have I ever claimed anything as pure fact? The only time I've said something that isn't already fact was that Revolution Graphical thing. Allow me to quote myself:

On top of that, I heard Nintendo is also ditching polys for a brand new type of graphic, one that allows for easier design on lower end specs but can produce fantastic results.

I HEARD Nintendo is ditching polygons. HEARD.

Bant, or anybody, dont take this too harshly, but sometimes you misread what people say and then say I said it as fact, when in actual fact, I didn't say anything of the sort.

By saying I heard automatically discredits it as fact. If it was fact, I would if said something more like this;

On top of that, I can confirm Nintendo is also ditching polys for a brand new type of graphic, one that allows for easier design on lower end specs but can produce fantastic results.

Wow, what an embarassment some people can make when they replace one word with 3!

:)

EDIT:

Wow, ONE post out of 96(Yes, I've just checked through all of my 96 posts) where I might of said something that isn't fact.

Doesn't help the So-called Almighty Cell-processor is bottlenecked

This, might not be entirely true, I haven't gotten to the bottom of this. But one Post..whoo...you made it sound like I do it all the time. And, actually, the only blog I've read is ZeldaBlog (which I havent really visited in weeks). I don't really visit blogs. And anything I've heard from word of mouth or dodgy sites I haven't posted as fact, bar that one post.

Edited by Tjalian

the problem is that you are not being specific whether it is rumor or fact. you can hear facts and you can hear rumors. you can hear lots of stuff, its neat. what you CANT do, is expect people to know that your definition and use of the word is different from the norm.

more stuff you've "heard"? or fact? or just talkin out your ass?

if its not absolute truth, say its not, and give your sources.

Why the hell should I give out whether its exact truth or not every time I say something JUST because you say so? I don't see you asking everybody else to do so, even though they make up more b/s and unclear posts then I do.

And, of course its true, or have you been living under a rock? Its common knowledge ATi is developing a custom graphics card for Ninty.

Nintendo have always made components effecien and affordable instead of going for raw power. They need to do this to Revolution too so it could fit into the small design. They did a good job on GameCube. I really can't wait to test the controller. Please Nintendo give us a ingame sample on how well it can be used in a game!

Since Mario 64 was a demonstration on the N64 controller, let's hope Mario 128 is the same for Revolution.

How do they do it nowdays? With big metalic control clams. They will do the same or tie it to the unit with a chain or something. I doubt itd be that hard at all really.

If they want to demo the motion tracker use a chain, otherwise put the control in the controller shell and clamp it.

No, they're gonna hire 2 Nintendo security guards for every 1 Nintendo Kiosk. And they will have full authority to kick the SH** out of you if you try to get away with the controller. No need to impede your fun with chains and clamps :). Also, you will be tapped on the shoulder after 5 minutes to let the person behind you have a turn.

Im afraid its even simpler than that. Nintendo is going to clone Chuck Norris, Jackie Chan, and Mr. T. A clone of each will be at every Revolution kiosk, ensuring the safety of the controller.

I'm sure that they will put a metal wire conected to it. And it will affect you gameplay, make it a bit hard to move correctly. And I'm also sure some stores are going to put a chain to the metal wire for extra security, making it more difficult!!

Kinda like those gun arcade games...

Seriously dudes... I remember when sony was going around to walmarts or something with dreamcast (I don't really remember, seems like ages ago) and they just setup a stand with some sega employees and a tv. You'd play the games, have some fun. And they'd be there for like week, then move on to other places in the city. No chains or setting up a true kiosk, just a tv and a videogame console where you could sit down and talk to some peeps hired by sega. They also had some competition running with it too or something, you'd get entered into a draw or something prolly i seem to remember for trying to play.

Yeah somehow I see the chain being to short and people doing there arms in when they swing to far :p

Or the little kids who drop them once they've finished with them...

In other news (or not :p), there is a press preview of the Nintendo Wi-Fi connection website. Of course you need access to enter.

http://www.press.nintendowifi.com

I've only seen a bit of the site, It looks like Nintendo.com site but with other color scheme, and is localized you know.. "with select your country/region" . My brother didn't share with me his pass..

It is suppose to open tomorrow, isn't it?

Nintendo Gives Away Revolution Controllers

This year's Platinum prize, announced today, is a television remote control that just happens to look identical to the Revolution controller. The controller will have the exact shape and size of the Revolution controller, but will operate a television rather than Revolution games.
In addition to the controller, Platinum members will get a year 2006 original wall calendar featuring the likeness of Kirby, Nintendogs, Mario and Zelda. Gold members will get just the calendar. The calendar will ship in December with the controller promised prior to the Revolution's release (which the site lists as taking place some time in fiscal 2006).

Both items can be seen at Nintendo's website.

This offer applies only to Japan, where Nintendo's Club Nintendo rewards program has a particularly nifty set of prizes, from special character-based GameCube controllers to Zelda poster sets.

    • Windows 11 KB5094126 BSODing, freezing, forcing BitLocker lockout, breaks OneDrive, and more by Sayan Sen Microsoft released Windows 11 KB5094126 and KB5093998 last week as the latest Patch Tuesday updates. Following that the company also published the accompanying dynamic updates under KB5094149, KB5095971, and KB5094156. While Microsoft has so far not acknowledged any major problems with the release, some users online are running into problems. These range from OneDrive and Dropbox access issues, BitLocker recovery lockouts, to blue screens and BSODs. The most common one seems to be happening with HP systems wherein affected users say they hit 0xc0430001 BSOD (blue screen of death) error code after the KB5094126 update. We wonder if this could be related to the recent bug we covered on HP devices wherein the ongoing Secure Boot certificate updates are leading to similar issues. While we are not certain, users affected by this issue likely need to ensure that the boot.stl file is included on the installation media (such as a USB installer or ISO), if the above-mentioned dynamic updates are deployed. If this file is missing, computers may fail to boot from the installation media and could display the error 0xc0430001. This STL file is used by Secure Boot to verify that the boot files are trusted, so it must match the same Windows version and system architecture. To ensure the file is included, Microsoft recommends using the Update WinPE script, which automatically updates the image and handles the required files. Alternatively, you can manually copy the boot.stl file from the Windows\Boot\EFI folder on a Windows device and place it in the matching folder on your installation media before deploying the updated image. Aside from blue screening some users also note their systems have been freezing following the update. This could be happening to Lenovo PCs specifically. In the case of the OneDrive and Dropbox access issues, a user figured out that there could be a conflict with UAC. He explained: "Okay, so I did some digging, and in our environment KB5094126 breaks OneDrive and Dropbox in Explorer. I went through all our GPOs and found out that the combination of disabling UAC and having my user being a local admin breaks OneDrive in Explorer. ... If I enable UAC again, then it works, even with KB5094126 still installed." Hopefully, Microsoft will look into these issues.
