One way I found is to go to search, search for something. It gives you the results. Then there is an organize button with a drop down. Click that and say save search. That allows you to create a custom view/virtual folder.

Vista is just showing me search results from the "User" folder. Any way to change that?

No, it is just the runtime I believe.

Yes it's just the runtime, saying that without it you can't view/run any Avalon apps/docs. There are some examples skattered around the net (or you could develop your own like me!!!) :ninja:

have you tried the beta drivers from ATi?

Yes I grabbed them last night, I was still getting a hardware error. Maybe I'll take that card out and put in an old TI4400 or something. I bypassed the Sound card problem by disabling the multimedia device and then enabling my Mboard Sounddevices in the Bios.

Grr...still can't get Glass to work on my 9700 pro. I've installed the beta drivers from ATI, tried TweakVista (crap), done the registry tweaks, even installed the AGP drivers for my SiS chipset. Still nothing. Anyone else having this problem with the 9700 Pro? Everything seems to be running very sluggish also, in regards to display.

My bbati 9700 Pro at home worked "Out of the box" without the new Ati driver.

  Nvidia 32-bit LDDM drivers:

Now you can have glass on your 6xxx and 7xxx card.

ummm i get the Aero Glass and all those cool tings on my Old Gforce FX 5200 128MB

should i install those new Nvidia Drivers ??? (faster, better or something...)

Have you got an Nforce board per chance?

I'm not sure if indexing is getting all my files.  It ends up with 380 each and every time I click "Rebuild."

Search doesn't work very well either.  I have to go to the command line and type: "dir /s filename.xxx" to find anything.

Same problem here, still searching for resolution.

Same here except my glass works, but display (scrolling in IE,mirc) is slooow.

Hmm...for me it went to the users folder, with my name defaulted, but then it was selecting the virtual folder...post a screenie

The ONLY way to get glass (AFAIK) is to use an LDDM certified drivers. Use the newest ATI beta Vista drivers, and select the LDDM (5th one down I think). Should work fine...

Well, I have spent at least 18 hours on trying to install it on my laptop and It just will not work. Oh well. I could install it on my desktop but, I seriously do not want to change what I have set up, way too much of my work. All my hardware I have double checked to make sure it is supported only thing I am not sure about is my Intel Pro Wireless 2200 pci. I am seriously upset and frustrated at this.

I have no idea what the issue is, all my hardware is supported I even logged in and redownloaded the ISO thinking it may have been a bad burn or download.

    • Right, Google... because that's who this is going to. Google, the company who's entire business model is geared around ad revenue and your personal data.
    • That is the natural course for regulations. First to protect the consumer. Then to protect the business/industry from upstart competition. There are countless examples across history.
    • I have never been a huge fan of libre, it feels really good but exactly when you need an advance feature for data wrangling it falls short every time or has bugs. I am all for euro office if they can deliver a good and usable alternative to MS office with backing of govt function.
    • Go on, I'll bite. How does windows (nice comment on an 'article' which doesn't actually involve it ) lock users out of their data then? Been using it since 3.1 back in 92 and not once have I been locked out of my data? Perhaps you mean Bitlocker? In which case the average user (who doesn't mess about) will have been forced to use a MSA, and in which case the recovery key would have been saved to said account..... If the user did happen to bodge around and not use an MSA then Bitlocker wouldn't have become live (as it cannot without a safe place to store the key) I want to point out Bitlocker and MSA are not connected and you can of course force it on without a safe place to store the key, but you do that with your eyes open. So your standard consumer who knows no better sets up an MSA, gets bitlocker and a recovery key stored off box, with a route to reset their password. All of this notwithstanding the fact, if your data is important, you back it up, no ifs, no buts, no-ones responsibility other than your own. Important data lives in at least two locations, one of which is offline and recovery is tested, otherwise that data wasn't really that important. Disks, fail, laptops get lost, phones end up down the toilet, tablets get stolen, if your only copy of data is on a single device you're doing it wrong.
    • Clearly that feature isn't for us. It's for the ad spam marketers so they can more directly target us about going to places we might want to go again...but without understanding context clues. Like for the flight someone took for a friend's funeral. We want to be reminded of that every time we open an app, a browser, or email, right? Right, Siri?
