GO SENS GO, today they kicked some ass on the ice :D Chara owned Gleason lol

He got suspended for one game and Murray got fined $10,000 due to that new rule about players instigating fights.

Interesting. I think that after the Doan incident, where the NHL failed to suspend Shane Doan for instigating a fight in the final five minutes, and was harshly criticized for having a lenient stance on a star player playing for Wayne Gretzky, that the NHL was quick to jump on this one to point out how it doesn't matter who the player is.

  :p WOO! HOO! Flames start December with a win!

Against the Wings no less. :D

If I remember correctly, Jimmy Howard has started the past few games, and he's a rookie. Injury problems with the Red Wings goalies. Although I don't blame it all on Howard -- the rest of the time seems to be tired (after all those early season games bunched up, I can see why) and lacking in confidence.

CANUCKS PWNED SENS :D :D :D :D :D

dL

They barely won! Bertuzzi was extremely lucky his shot went in.

The Sens just had an off-night, mostly because of penalties. They are still #1 in the league, and I wouldn't count the Canucks in the top 5. Vancouver can only play well at home.

^Poor Ottawa, first our Canucks beat them and now the Flames. (Y) Owned.

They got a point in each game. They were hardly "owned".

And I'm a Leafs fan so I'd like to see nothing more than the Sens get actually owned. I just don't know if I will see that very much this season.

The Leafs getting "owned", on the other hand, may be a recurring problem...

I guess I have been proved wrong, in that the West teams are winning against the Eastern teams. But I have noticed that quite a few of the interconference games have gone into overtime.

Cloutier is out for the rest of the season for the Canucks. Torn ACL that will require surgery. I guess that finally kills all the Luongo romors once and for all.

Canucks made a HUGE mistake re-signing him. They should have got rid of him while they had the chance :(

I was quite giddy when I heard the news. :D

damn clouts is out, not so good.

Let's hope auld can hold up for us.

Auld's been pretty solid so far. Actually his stats are better than Cloutiers so far this season. I think if Auld keeps playing the way he has, go with him and then look for something at the deadline. You never know, Auld could turn into a Kiprosoff or Guigere type goalie.

i definately hope he is going to do it for us man, he played pretty well against NYC tonite, however he needs to get better at rebound control.

The Canucks cannot do as well as they'd like in the regular season, nor carry far into the playoffs with Auld. His stats aren't that great, he's behind a good defence, and very few goaltenders with that little experience can step in for an entire season and lead a top notch team.

If the Canucks want to remain at the top of the standings or to win the Cup, they need to trade for a Buffalo goalie. Or Luongo. Get rid of Bertuzzi, as I suggested after his big season three years ago...

Aulds stats are actually pretty good. 11th in both GAA (2.58) and Sv% (.909). In comparison Cloutier was at 29th with a GAA of 3.17 and Sv% of .892 in the games he played so far this year.

Someone posted this on the Canuck forums and it's pretty interesting:

Let me add one more thing. Remember that stretch of games where the Canucks played 4 games in 6 nights, and most of the questions pertaining to Auld's ability to be a starter came up? Remember that not only was it 4 games in 6 nights, but the Canucks played back-to-back in different cities - TWICE! No way does one goalie start all those games under normal circumstances. If the Canucks had a second goalie that could play at all in the NHL, those games would almost certainly have been split.

Now consider that Auld allowed 11 goals in those 2 tail-enders of the back-to-back games. They skew his numbers for the season (which are good anyway) quite a bit. If you omit those games, which I think is a reasonable thing to do, because you know that no starter (ie Cloutier) with a decent backup (ie Auld) would have started each of those four games, Auld's numbers are even more impressive:

2.20 GAA (5th in NHL), .919 SV% (7th in NHL), 10 wins in 14 starts (71% wins). You can say that games shouldn't be omitted, but I think I have explained very clearly why those two should be omitted and give a more accurate picture of how Auld has played; when he did play back-to-back in the same city (Calgary), he only allowed one goal on 27 shots. From here on out in this analysis, when I refer to "Auld's record as a starter" I will be looking at his record and statistics with those two games justly (in my opinion) omitted.

About Bertuzzi, that would be the stupidest thing they could do at this point. The past few games he's been really returning to form. I haven't seen him play like this in the past 2 years. Trade him just when he is showing signs of becoming the domintant player he used to be again? No way.

about bertuzzi i'm a big bert fan. I'll come out and say it right away, i love the guys style of play when he's on.

Honestly tho, how good at the game would you be if you have been away for so long not even allowed to practice or play? How comfortable would you be when you have every disciplinarion in the league watching and breathing down your neck? Honestly Big Bert will come around he's starting to again.

Back to auld again, i think he will do just fine, as soon as he gets better at controlling rebounds.

I'm no hockey expert, so I'm just suggesting that the odds are against Auld to succeed. But I do know that there is a big chance he won't perform too well in the playoffs.

As for Bertuzzi, when he had his big season a couple years ago, I said that he would never have that good of a season again. They should have traded him that summer for several young, great players. Maybe like Heatley and somebody else. Now he's not that valuable, because of his terrible season two years ago, his suspension, and his not doing well this season. I doubt he'll ever reach his top form again. If he does, all the power to him, but that was an observation I had two years ago.

    • I like the show more options. The only problem with it is that it's not always in a consistent spot in the menu. If the copy/paste/cut, happens to show on top, then more option is the last in the menu. But if copy/paste/cut happens to show on the bottom, then more options is before the copy/paste/cut. But I do like the more options because it hides the stuff that I rarely use. But I would like to choose what it is or isn't hiding. That would make it better.
    • I wonder if "put it back the way it was for decades" ever crossed their minds? 🤣
    • Rescind the stupid "Show more options" in context menus and just give us the full menu instead of adding more steps to get to what we want. The "simpler by default" makes me think they'll go in the opposite direction. Every context menu should have a configure button so you can pick and choose what options should be shown, I know you can do that with some registry fu but that shouldn't be required.
    • This is why competition must exist. Finally, pressure is mounting on Microsoft to move in the right direction.
    • Microsoft is making Windows 11's context menus faster, simpler, and configurable by Taras Buria Five years ago, Windows 11 introduced redesigned context menus, offering users a simpler, more modern design. However, customers quickly discovered that the new menus leave a lot to be desired. Many are unhappy with performance (they are really slow), while others dislike the double-layed design, where many options are hidden behind the "Show more options" button. In addition, over the years, menus became cluttered and overloaded. While Microsoft has already fixed plenty of pain points across Windows 11, context menus remain mostly unchanged. Fortunately, Microsoft is finally listening. Marcus Ash, Design and Research Lead for Windows at Microsoft, responded to a tweet on X, confirming that the company is working on fixing Windows 11's context menus. Reworked context menus are supposed to be faster, simpler by default, and "configurable to what you use most." What the latter means is unknown, just like whether Microsoft plans to keep the classic menu alongside the modern one, but according to Marcus, the wait should finally be over soon, as he promised to "share our approach soon." Improved context menus will most likely appear first in Windows 11 preview builds in the Experimental Channel. While we wait for Microsoft to release them, you can try fixing context menus on your PC with a simple tool called Windows 11 Context Menu Manager. It lets you disable entries you do not need, not only cleaning up context menus, but also making them significantly faster. Microsoft has already improved Windows 11's Start menu and taskbar, so hopefully it will address user criticism of the context menu as well. Stay tuned for new Windows 11 preview builds, which usually arrive every Friday.
