Just installed mine. Just played little bit with it. A little dissapointed with the sharefolders I thought I will be ablea to share one folder for a couple of persons but the only way I could see is everybody has it's own folder and if you want to share some files you have to copy or move them there. Didn't test the offline messaging yet.

The tray icon JUST SUCKS, if anybody from microsoft is reading this forum, then guys do something about that.

IMPORTANT---

I know if get the download email in gmail you will not be able to click on the download button. I know it works in Hotmail and not gmail (I know from the OneCare beta). But from gmail I had to view the source of the email message and copy and paste the URL into the address bar. Second, do not open up the download link in Firefox, it will give you a message that you need to use IE, and when you go to open the URL in IE it will give you the same message. (at least this was true for OneCare). Do not navigate to the download URL using any browser but IE.

Bleh...I have 0365, and it still wont let me sign in, even though i got the download email. I guess I'll sleep on it.

Is it just me or my beta didn't came with invitations to send out. Try using Help -> Beta Invitations. Let me know if you get the same message saying that you already used all of your invites.

"Sorry, you don't have any invitations left for Windows Live? Messenger beta.

We'll let you know when you have more."

Anyone know how to remove the My Shared Folders from My Computer? I've already disabled the shared folders in wlm 8, but it doesn't remove it.

To the guy who said to use IE, that doesn't work. I tried with FF and with IE, both in Gmail and Yahoo. I also tried from within Thunderbird and Mail (on my Mac), and neither of those show a link, either--just the "Download Now" button. =\

gmail and other email programs are blocking the 'graphic' and 'link'...either set your email to veiw 'inline' graphics...or right click and view source...the link will look something like:

The invitation code you entered is invalid, assigned to another person, or else the program is no longer accepting invitations.

I got my download email, but I dont hv a download link showing up on ideas.live.com or connect.microsoft.com

where is the download????

Anyone else having a problem with Apatch?

my roomate had a problem with it, he had to reinstall wlm again, and the he ran apatch again, and it worked. i had no problems.

It originally wouldnt let me click the 'download button' from Thunderbird, or from Opera...so i had to open the email from IE, and it finally worked.

On top of all that, i just saw that jwjw1 had it figured out while i was busy trying to work it out on my own.

Overall...messenger live is not much to write home about, but its a nice visual overhaul in my opinion.

Make sure you using the lastest release (just released) version of APatch A-Patch130rc1_25WLM it available on the site...and added support for 8.0.0365
