I got mine from

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/ie7/ie7betaredirect.mspx

But im having a problem installing it, I'm stuck at 50%

I get this error on 3 different machines I've tried to install on. As far as I can tell, there's no fix for it so far. MS is aware of it though.

i was really looking forward to using this but form the sounds of it it has so many bugs and issues that i really dont want to risk it :s . but i guess i can wait for the final release i hope that will be less buggy lol :D or nobody will be using it

So far build 7.0.5269.0 is performing flawlessly for me!

Thanks Mr Gates this is an improvement in my browsing experience.

Oh and the correct offset is: 0F AC heh heh heh

Did you get an unleaked/unreleased build or did you mean 5299?

If so, I advise you to update it, as even if it's an earlier build, the facts prove it's working better.

r u stupid it says 5296 not 5206 and yes this is better than leaked version

It's a simple typo and you need to grow up little child.

Also for the ones going on and on about the build number. Build 5299 doesn't necesarially mean it's a newer version than 5296. It can have a build number of 5296, but be compiled at another date. Say 5299 was released on Jan 20th. They could have had a more stable version before that. They could have taken build 5296, fixed a few little things and recomplite it while keeping the build number of 5296 and released that at a later time. Notice that 5299 doesn't work with Windows Live Mail and 5296 does. All the issues in the leaked version aren't in this one as far as I can see.

That's mainly why everybody on 5299 should update. Live Mail is not the only site I've seen that shows improvement on 5296 (AOL Videos, for example)

If a security hole is found, or something else of that nature, will there be patches for this? Or are we SOL until the final -- supported -- version of IE 7 ships?

well I think it is in BETA so that they can FIND those kind of things. They will probably INCORPORATE the fixes into the next release... it something is a serious concern they will probably realease a PATCH

HP & Dell websites are another. I haven't tried it on the Office 12 website - forgot the address. If anyone remembers please post it here. Windows Live Mail also works fine for me. I'm still looking for other notable bugs and will post it if I discover one :) .

    • I used to use Google assistant, not on the phone i have now, but about 7 years ago, then I decided it did not really do anything for me. Because i had Echo units over the house I added Alexa to the phone to control stuff and that is how it is now. Not the new Alexa+, as that is not really available in the U.K yet apart from on new units and to be honest, not interested in it. I went though the stage years ago of using voice to do text and call people, quicker to do it using my hands. I had a muck about with Siri on my Mac when I first got it, but not having a microphone permanently plugged in makes it a pain. I know it can be used by text. Siri like Apple AI is disabled on my Mac and will stay disabled.
    • I have a TV, but it is not used for normal linear TV, only streaming and it is not a Samsung and the best bit is, I don;'t and never have had a Instagram account. The only thing I have to do with Meta is Faceache and I only keep that just for the messaging part.
    • But building your own.. what? You can't build anything like the Steam Machine yourself. Even trying to get close costs a good deal more. Even just the CPU cooler in their price comparison is as big as the entire Steam Machine. If you want a regular gaming PC, then by all means, build that. If you want a a small console-like PC for the living room that is good for gaming, I'm not sure what else is a better deal. In the GN review, they only mentioned a small form factor Dell, which is like twice the size and hundreds of dollars more expensive.
    • Those are some popular multiplayer games. But hardly "all". Just those that don't work on Linux currently due to specific anti-cheat implementations. I think it's also fair to point out the literally thousands of games that don't work on the PS5. And it's not locked at 1080p. That's the default, which you can change.
