Thatcher shouldn't havre done what he did. Mendes is now injured and may have long-term injuries. Poor Mendes.

Well Thatcher should pay Mendes's wages till he recovers.

Thatcher busted a players jaw on tour also.

I can't believe the FA haven't got the balls to deal with him without using the lame excuse about the referee gave him a card which was yellow already.

If Gallagher (ref) did not see the actions of Thatcher he too should be banned and have an eye test.

On tour he caused a chinese player a punctured lung. Jeez how do you do that?

Its good to see that despite City having a tough game this weekend, that they have took the action to suspend Thatcher whilst investigation takes place.

Now if only the FA have the balls to do something themselves then maybe some justice will actually come from this.

Im a big UTD fan but still have to give city credit for taking action.

Lets hope all this weekends games are clean and that we can talk about some great goals, and not another horror tackle taking place.

Agree it was a terrible tackle, and he should pay, but were all the United fans saying the samething about Keane's tackle on Alf Ing Haarland ? That was premeditated where I am sure Thatcher's was just a spur of the moment thing and he only meant to push him out of the way

That was a horrible tackle! Ben shouldnt be aloud to play football again after that.

Hahaha! How is that even possible? That's crazy.

Yeah, it was a brutal challenge. You could see how he carried on after the ball had been cleared.

I think he meant to get him hard, to kind of scare Mendes out of future tackles, which is nothing new in football. But he took it too far.

Aston Villa continues to impress with their unbeaten run. Newcastle didn't have a great day. Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United won their games, no shocks here. Arsenal's loss is a shocker. Loosing to Manchester City won't help the teams confidence. Spurs too had a bad game against Everton.

The next gameweek's highlights are Arsenal v M'brough. Though an away game, Boro would love to shock Arsenal at the new Emirates stadia, Boro had that morale boosting win against Chelsea and Arsenal lost the game against ManC, so this game will be an entertaining one. Then we have Man Utd v Tot'ham. I expect United to win this one, though this will be a difficult one to win among the previous 3 games i think.

Glad to see aston villa doing pretty well now. sorta happy that arsenal aren't doing so great!

Aston Villa look to get Petrov from Celtic for 7m. I'm pretty anoyed at this as pompey have wanted him for some time now, and then aston villa comes in and they get him. Same think happend with Anelka going to Bolton. It just seems some clubs don't want to deal with portsmouth even thou now Portsmouth have money and differnt people in power they dont want to know.

And glen jonhson is now got an ankle problem and will miss out on tonite match

Ben Thatcher could return to action within a month after Manchester City imposed a six-match ban for his horrific challenge on Portsmouth midfielder Pedro Mendes, two of which are suspended.

Meanwhile quite a lot happening at the transfer window:

Portsmouth sign striker Andrew Cole from Manchester City in a two-year deal.(Is Shibby happy now? :p )

Argentina striker Carlos Tevez says he and team-mate Javier Mascherano have agreed to sign for West Ham.

Woodgate & ?6m Huth sign for Boro

Portsmouth have signed veteran striker Andy Cole from Manchester City on a two-year contract. (Maybe Shibby is more happier now?:pp)

Manchester United have loaned Italian youngster Giuseppe Rossi to Newcastle.

Manchester United are not expected to make any new signings before the transfer window closes tomorrow after Sir Alex Ferguson effectively conceded defeat in his attempts to sign Owen Hargreaves.

Aston Villa manager Martin O'Neill has finally won the battle to sign Celtic midfielder Stilian Petrov who has joined the midlands club in an ?8million deal.

Mascherano and Tevez are two great players. I am particularly impressed with Mascherano, he guard's his defence very well.

Lucky West Ham if they get them, but I can smell Chelsea's hand in this as Roman's bitch own's MSI (who also own Tevez and Mascherano). I think Chelsea just want both player's to play in London for a year and gain experience in the Premiership, before they join Chelsea.

Is Cole going to move to Chelsea? Is Gallas moving out of Chelsea? Whats going to happen in the last few hours of the transfer market?

Cole will be staying at Arsenal until Christmas I think, I'm surprised Tevez went to West Ham though. I'd have liked to see him at Arsenal or a slightly larger club. Lets just hope the Argentinians can stay on their feet in the premiership and don't want to move abroad after one season.

Reyes still wants a move to Real Madrid, I'd like to see him stay in the Premiership but I read in the paper that Julio Baptista could be making his way to Arsenal on loan which would help them out a lot at the moment.

Tevez and Mascherano have signed for West Ham on permanant deal's for an undisclosed fee.

To be honest, there is no way in hell that West Ham could afford either of those player's as they would cost more than ?50 million combined. It look's like many of us were wrong about Chelsea having something to do with this, seeing as the deal's are loan deal's. I remmber last year MSI were linked to a takeover or West Ham, so maybe that could have something to do with it?

Amazing coup for West Ham though, I genuinely like West Ham as a football club so I would much rather Tevez and Mascherano sign for them than say Chelsea or Manure.

Arsenal swap Reyes for Baptista

ARSENAL: The first edition of The Sun has arrived at 2230 and it claims that Arsenal have accepted a deal of ?5m plus William Gallas for Ashley Cole from Chelsea. Elsewhere, the Gunners have agreed a swap deal which will see Jose Antonio Reyes heading to Real Madrid, and Julio Baptista coming the other way. It's a loan deal for one season, with an option to buy next summer. Meanwhile, one defender looks to be off - Villarreal have agreed a ?2m fee for Pascal Cygan (2152).

    • Microsoft finally admits its default Windows 11 25H2, 24H2 action broke key legacy component by Sayan Sen Microsoft last week released Windows 11 KB5094126 and KB5093998 as the latest Patch Tuesday updates. Following that the company also published the accompanying dynamic updates under KB5094149, KB5095971, and KB5094156. So far the company has acknowledged two known issues that have popped up after the release which include bugged-out Office apps as well as the Recycle Bin; though there could be more at play too. Speaking of bugs and issues, Microsoft seems to have finally acknowledged a problem that probably has been around for close to a year. That's because back in July of 2025 the company made a default change to the latest Windows 11 versions, wherein it switched to JScript9Legacy on Windows 11 24H2 and later releases. Hence following the release of version 25H2 in October 2025, JScript9Legacy also remained default-enabled. As a result there has been a compatibility issue ever since then. For those wondering, by switching to JScript9Legacy Microsoft intended to improve the security of modern Windows PCs by reducing vulnerabilities tied to legacy scripting like cross-site scripting (XSS), among others. XSS exploits can allow cyber-attackers to attach malicious code onto legitimate websites and use them to execute the code when a potential victim loads such a website. Hence the new JScript9Legacy engine enforced stricter execution policies and improved object handling, which should help mitigate such attacks. Microsoft today has published a new support article detailing the problem. Neowin spotted it while browsing. The company says that JScript global definitions and execution context may fail to persist across scripts, potentially breaking older dependent apps and web-based components that relied on this legacy behavior. In the article Microsoft has confirmed that the issue stems from its move away from the older jscript9.dll engine in favor of jscript9legacy.dll. As mentioned above, while the newer engine was designed to address vulnerabilities and strengthen security it also changes how JScript handles execution context. As a result functions and definitions loaded by one script could no longer remain available to subsequent scripts once execution ended. The company notes that some applications worked correctly on earlier Windows versions because the older JScript engine automatically retained global definitions and execution state between scripts. Under the newer model though that behavior is disabled by default causing certain legacy workloads and polyfill-dependent scripts to fail. Microsoft says it addressed the problem via the KB5077241 update though the fix had not been enabled automatically in the following updates. As such admins must explicitly turn on persistent JScript execution context using a Registry setting that the tech giant shared today. The configuration can be applied to individual processes or system-wide through the FEATURE_ENABLE_PERSISTENCE registry key. The steps have been outlined below: Run the following command to create the feature control registry key: reg add "HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_ENABLE_PERSISTENCE" Under this key, create a new DWORD (32-bit) value. Configure the value as follows: To enable persistence for specific processes only: Set the value to 1 for each target process name. To enable persistence for all processes: Add * as the key name and set its value to 1. You can find the official support article here on Microsoft's website.

    • VidCoder 12.20 by Razvan Serea VidCoder is a DVD/Blu-ray ripping and video transcoding application for Windows. It uses HandBrake as its encoding engine. Calling directly into the HandBrake library gives it a more rich UI than the official HandBrake Windows GUI. VidCoder can rip DVDs but does not defeat the CSS encryption found in most commercial DVDs. You’ll need the NET 8 Desktop Runtime. If you don’t have it, VidCoder will prompt you to download and install it. The Portable version is self-contained and does not require any .NET Runtime to be installed. You do not need to install HandBrake for VidCoder to work. Feature list: Multi-threaded MP4, MKV containers Completely integrated encoding pipeline: everything is in one process and no huge intermediate temporary files H.264, H.265, MPEG-4, MPEG-2, VP8, Theora video Hardware-accelerated encoding with AMD VCE, Nvidia NVENC and Intel QuickSync AAC, MP3, Vorbis, AC3, FLAC audio encoding and AAC/AC3/MP3/DTS/DTS-HD passthrough Target bitrate, size or quality for video 2-pass encoding Decomb, detelecine, deinterlace, rotate, reflect, chroma smooth, colorspace filters Powerful batch encoding with simultaneous encodes Customizable Pickers to automatically pick audio and subtitle tracks, destination, titles and more Instant source previews Creates small encoded preview clips Pause, resume encoding VidCoder 12.20 changes: Updated HandBrake core to 1.11.2.
