RC1 was unstable on my machine so i deleted that partition. Problem is now..i can't get rid of boot manager in vista to go back to xp's boot. anyone know how to get rid of the boot manager after a partion deletion?

Slap in an XP CD, boot to recovery mode. Type in fixmbr, and say yes to all of MS' not responsible messages, and presto... :o

Wish i could get vista to install on my pc :(

Anyway, i'm happy again because i'm going to ready for a new day an BILL GATES will be coming toooooooooooooooooo...!!!! So excited (sorry, but when you are 14 years old and you will see bill gates in real-life you can get excited!)

that doesn't work. I tried that already. also there is a exe file on vista that is supposed to work, but i think vista is still supposed to be installed if you use that. I guess i have to reformat this to get the mbr back the way it was. any other suggestions?

Nope... the solution documented by Microsoft using the Vista repair console on the disc, can be performed from XP or Vista

Where are the screenies kids? It takes a while to get through to the download section on connect, try the link below if you're on the beta. I'm maxing out my connection off the North American server.

OK got it running. Phew, 2 hours to in-place from previous build...

They changed the desktop to say "RC2".

No screenshots, sorry. But runs fine on my Dell Optiplex 270. Dual monitors on GeForce FX5500.

Usually I would get a lot more HD activity after install, but not with this build... so I guess that's good...

Nothing else much that I can see. Kind of uneventful I guess. Where are the days when things were broken after installs?

A major compiler is used for both x86/x64 and WoA64 architectures. This also means that all core libraries are re-compiled accordingly which required some changes in the build scripts. One of the core libraries (cURL) has been updated to address vulnerabilities and a nasty linker error that was causing the need for a dedicated patch which could now be eliminated.
