No confirmation, but with 30,000 people mailing/faxing those in, it would come as no surprise to not have any confirmations. I would imagine, they are inputting them in electronically, and then releasing the ship authorization to the shipping center in batches.

ARGH!

I was just owned by Microsoft -

I am here at work on the phone with a customer when an out of area call comes in on my cell phone, so I kindly asked my customer to hold and went to my cell phone and answered it.

Me

"Hello?"

Microsoft Agent-

"This is (can't remember her name now) calling from Microsoft is this (my name)?"

By this point, my heart jumps out of my chest and I am thinking they are going to confirm my shipping...

Me

"This is!"

Microsoft Agent-

"I was just calling to confirm..."(Let me stop there and say, I was attempting to read her mind and think she was calling to confirm that they received my W9 and address). "that you are still going to the Microsoft Across America Launch scheduled for this Tuesday."

(A little disappointed I reply)

Me

"I am going to try to get there if the weather permits " (We are under a nice little deep freeze in the Pacific NW right now)

Microsoft Agent-

"Ok, great, we will be looking for you then, also, I am required to tell you that there will be a $6 parking fee which will not be validated at the conference)"

After that, I was so taken back by the courtesy call, that I didn't think to ask about the powertogether giveaway, so I let the call go.

Using the vast future predicting powers given to me by the powers of non-alcoholic beer, I predict the first person to recieve his copy on...

Monday, 5th of January, 2007

if that is your prediction, i can't imagine what the powers of an actual Alcoholic beer would do to you LOL

 Wow, now I feel like a total "r-tard", as South Park eloquently puts it. I suppose I will officially revise my prediction to Wednesday, January 24th.

On another note, I recieved a mysterious USPS postal slip about a package which wasn't delivered because I wasn't home to pay the postage. Could this be the elusive Vista? Doth Microsoft ship in such a way? I haven't ordered anything else, so... :shiftyninja:

    • illegally? Proof of that? Seems you are posting misinformation or well a pure straight up lie cause there is zero proof of such a thing. But I get it...

    • Did you go into settings > engines and switch some more stuff on. The more you enable the slower it will get but the better the results will be
