I'm guessing that Loke vanishes at the Seattle event at Gas Works park. If any of you are in the area, they're planning a big celebration(over 21) and if you've ever been to a MS party - you wont want to miss it. Just get there early to find parking!!

If a big event was planned they must have had to pull a permit or get permission of some sort. All in the interest of public safety. Just a thought.

another side thing. I realize our LO KI has japanese ties to the fox, etc but...

in canonese LO KI is synonymous with girlfriend.

my guess is that the window we all need to find might be a popup window that perhaps directs one to a special URL on the site.

BETTER DISABLE YOUR POP-UP Blockers!!!! :|

Hi,

I just wanted to say that there are some hidden regions in the flash file. And you D-Chiper, please be a little bit more patient, because not everybody likes capslock :p

Back to the flash skript. There are four extraordinary areas visible:

1. Text "start"

2. Text "encryptionTestText"

3. Template for the other buttons.

4. Image of an gearwheel.

But, well I think this is only because the designer of the page worked negligent ;)

PS: That "theoretically solved white boxes puzzle"-picture was made by me :)

PS2: URL is http://assets.vanishingpointgame.com/shell.swf?weekparam=1

Greetings,

Looking ahead. Does anyone have additional insight into any artistic meaning of the sundial at the Gas Works Park site in Seattle?

***************

From the Seattle Times

Chuck Greening, with Kim Lazare, also created the poetic "Gasworks Memorial Sundial" situated on one of the city's most spectacular viewpoints. Atop a grassy mound at the former industrial site that is now Gasworks Park at the north end of Lake Union, the sundial is a glorious thing, part ancient science, part magic. It's a mosaic circle of concrete and aggregate, embedded with seashells, marbles, bronze stars, fish emblems, bits of colored glass, astrological symbols and a great blossom like the navel of the world. You can actually use it to tell time, placing your own body as the gnomon (indicator): A plaque provides instructions. Since it was installed in 1978 (paid for by an anonymous donor) a few bits of the mosaic have come off and the sculpture has been used as an ashtray.

I have not found a good photo of the actual sundial yet. Just the description plaque.

We do know that the picture on the puzzle box pages have to do with the clues.

Does anyone know these buildings?

There are 5 of them, I would believe that they must be in each city a clue will be given.

Lets find out about them.

Nothing new, they are the sites related to the coordinates for this week but here are place by place.

Good catch kukatush, not sure if it means anything, maybe.

TO: JeffDeff .........well....you're just stressing a little TOO much about this thing. In a discussion that pertains to "hidden clues" (dont know if you've ever had one in real life, i have) ...people blabber out everything they see that MIGHT be out of place. Little by little it leads them somewhere. As per the "lesbian" thing: Why all the clocks either dont have the hour/minute hands or any labels on them, except for one. If you look up that label name (as i've previously stated) it pops up with all the homosexual sites. So i figured I'd point that out. (If you're homophobic, I guess i owe you an apology). Re: Condoms: just to release some tension in this room. Get it!

To EXHILE: ....good work! (FYI...im not THAT anxious..i actually am at work, so I spend 1/10th of time on this forum)

So far, i think we're making good progress, regardless that jeffster is getting upset about the homo/condom thing. (you'll see mate, that later on that will come up one way or the other, but....TIME will show...lol)

Just out of curiosity, what watch or clock has a name on it? As for being homophobic that is not the case I just dont see the point in you posting about things that have absolutely nothing to do with this contest or the puzzles. For now there is nothing more to figure out, wait until the next box opens and then work with those clues. As I said I wasnt trying to be a dick about it, but if I didnt say it somebody else would have.

Im not angry or irritated with you, worry not my good friend. That is not the reason this forum was created, to fued. Anyhow, Im going to go through the puzzles and find you that clock with the name on it. That clock being the ONLY ONE with branding....DOES (do agree under these circumstances) expand our curiousity and interest of its uniqueness. I'll give you the image in a few (If you want to find it sooner, it is somewhere in this blog, pages 60-65 I believe.

I was surprised when I found the image with the "COLE & KODY" text since in the actual puzzle I don't

remember seeing it, normally in flash you have a base template and then you have other images,

shapes or sprites that get layered on top of the base image.

As far as we know it doesn't seem to be the brand of any watch currently in the market, and as you

know if you search for the text you get a bunch of results related to gay porn.

My take (and some game writers love to do that) is that it could be just a legend from the guys that

put together some pieces of the game, I tried to find any relationship with Cole and Kody and

e42, but some of the design could be subcontracted work. I tend to believe that it's not a clue,

and after digging a lot on the flash files which may help to catch couple of things not evident when

you look at the actual flash files running the game or find snafus (like the gear puzzle solution)

imho there are no clues hidden in the files.

I'd rather focus more on the clues provided in the videos, like as I posted before the glasses

lowering gesture and the script, things like the "no office", we don't know how to connect them

yet, or if it's a diversion but for sure they have a meaning.

BTW, I'm intrigued about Loki's arrival to Austin last night, I haven't seen any strong leads

from the flight itinerary yet.

Cheers.

I guess she is going to the AMD campus in austin. I am actually intrigued about the message we get when we call AMD when she talks about the murmuring rock project, I dont think that we have any solution to that yet beyond the whole lorelei thing.

Haha, there are a couple of things that these guys from e42 put in the game that are really weird,

I didn't notice it while working on the puzzles, but later while taking a closer look at the flash

files I found the following image for the Watch Springs puzzle, when you enter the puzzle it

doesn't show it, I don't remember if it showed up when entering the answer.

Image: (the actual image shows the whole puzzle screen, I just cropped the watch)

post-195618-1169066648.jpg

Noticed the "Cole & Kody" legend ?

I did a search, some results, well I'd say are not related to the game unless Loki is a "he" :-)

Do you want to follow this lead ?

PS. Sent a msg to the loki @ AMD address you posted, didn't bounce yet ...

Cheers

SEE? If you cannot see the image, go to page 60-something...The Comment #1048 is the one that will tell you. Please put that Cole & Kody thing in "quotes" (like this: "Cole & Kody") in google search. See what you get :)

Looking ahead. Does anyone have additional insight into any artistic meaning of the sundial at the Gas Works Park site in Seattle?

I have not found a good photo of the actual sundial yet. Just the description plaque.

"People disappear..." at this location. Modo100 is onto something.

I just had a thought (it hurt too :) ), if a person was standing in the middle of the sundial (as stated on the plaque) at 12:00 noon, a persons shadow would dissappear, or vanish! thus being a persons vanishing point (well their shadow anyway)

As you can see in the image herewith...VanishingPoint has removed the branding shortly after. Now, look at the quote of the first puzzle box..."Look for clues BEFORE they DISAPPEAR"!!!.....

Be honest with me. If you picked that up, and linked it all together ( I agree that the whole homo thing doesnt really seem to fin into the chain of events here, however...) It IS a bit suspicious that it was there, people caught it, then it was removed, just like she predicts, that those clues will disappear.

CONCUR?

The Cole & Kody thing is most likely the names of one of the puzzle designers kids, and when they googled that combination of names they got the same results we did, that is why it was removed, it is not part of the game, it was never even visible until someone dug through the source code to find it.

Thanks Confusio....because some people here think im crazy :(

The Cole & Kody thing is most likely the names of one of the puzzle designers kids, and when they googled that combination of names they got the same results we did, that is why it was removed, it is not part of the game, it was never even visible until someone dug through the source code to find it.

LOL JEFF!!! Please stop being in such deep denial that I actually was not just blaberring about the gay thing, and stop insanely speculating that its the designers' childrens names! lol. Just admit it that my speculations were not pointless (see Confusio..lol) .....and lets move on!

Keep in mind....Every little word is a puzzle in this game. Designers dont have free will to shlap anythign they want on the website. This site was designed for brainstormers. THAT brand is NOT coincidental! :)

What I find interesting about the Cole Kody watch is the way the wings or "feathers" are incorporated into the image. To me they appear to be eagle feathers and this may relate to the feathers in the Meta puzzle image.

LOL, Time Flies?

What am I going to do at work when this is all done?

I just had a thought (it hurt too :) ), if a person was standing in the middle of the sundial (as stated on the plaque) at 12:00 noon, a persons shadow would dissappear, or vanish! thus being a persons vanishing point (well their shadow anyway)

No, your shadow will point to the top of the sundial at noon, not vanish completely (unless you're at the Equator!).

Keep in mind....Every little word is a puzzle in this game. Designers dont have free will to shlap anythign they want on the website. This site was designed for brainstormers. THAT brand is NOT coincidental! :)

Not true, in many games they do but few people notice it.

I tell you another reason why I spent some time following that lead is because together with

that image there is another image that gets overimposed to the base image in the first

frame, unless you have an ultra slow machine you will never see the legend, when I first

found the image I thought, hmmm is this something that was supposed to vanish ?

Then I went for additional digging and found nothing besides the curiosity why the heck

they put it there ?

BTW to satisfy your curiosity here is the image that gets overimpossed on the first frame.

    • Still using Classic Outlook? Microsoft highlights 15 reasons to switch to New Outlook by Usama Jawad As many of you may know, Microsoft has been trying to get customers to ditch Classic Outlook in favor of New Outlook for quite some time now. To that end, it has added numerous capabilities to the latter, including PST features, and it is working on several more, such as a unified inbox. However, customer response has been a bit lukewarm so far, with many considering the New Outlook to be "hot garbage". Now, Microsoft has highlighted 15 features that users can leverage in New Outlook in yet another attempt to get customers to migrate. Although not all of the 15 capabilities are exclusive to New Outlook, in fact, most of them are available in Classic Outlook as well. But Microsoft hopes that this combination of familiar and fresh features will be able to attract existing users as well as new ones. For ease of readability, we have summarized the 15 features below: Pin an email: This makes it easier to track important emails Snooze an email: You can temporarily snooze an email thread for a specific time frame until it becomes relevant again. This can be very useful in scenarios where you don't feel like actively following a thread or simply want to follow up on a later date Add multiple categories at the same time: You can assign multiple categories to an email through a single, simplified interface Sweep: As the name implies, you can define automated move processes on your inbox to declutter it, rather than cleaning it up manually Schedule send: Does exactly what it says on the tin, and can be useful when accommodating recipients in different timezones Simplified folder sharing: The sharing process has been simplified so permissions are automatically applied on parent folders Follow a meeting: This is an RSVP option that lets people know that you won't be able to join the meeting but would still like to access a recap Save calendar views: You can save different views for the calendar based on different workflows Improved meeting tracking: Organizers have more controls in viewing meeting responses, such as the ability to sort and download them. Typically useful when there is a large audience Meeting recap: The Outlook Calendar surfaces a meeting recap with recordings, transcripts, and shared files Filtered views: Allows you to declutter your Calendar so that it's easier to scan and schedule Change a recurring event: Users can modify future events of a series of meetings while preserving the configuration of previous ones Rename your email account: This labeling makes it easier to identify multiple accounts in Outlook Modern themes: Exactly what the name says, plus Dark Mode Keyboard shortcuts: This facilitates flexible user behavior as customers can choose between Outlook for Windows shortcuts, Outlook for the web, or turn them off completely There you have it. It's a decent list, but it remains to be seen if it will move the needle in a meaningful way for users who are attached to Classic Outlook. Again, a lot of the aforementioned features are already available in Outlook Classic, but for some, native functionality is not present, and people typically resort to workarounds. Microsoft will be hoping that it's primarily those capabilities that get people to finally switch.
