Hi all- I have been lurking and you guys are totally out of my league.

I apologize ahead of time if this sounds dumb, but I have been looking at the itinerary fax

from the /AWAKENED clue with the itinerary for: L Kitsune

A copy is on http://vanishingpointwiki.com/wiki/Image:I...r_L_KITSUNE.jpg, created by http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/

...and some of the airline codes didn't seem correct so I checked and ...

AW = DAS - Dirgantara Air Service/Schreiner Airways

SW = Air Namibia

AK = Air Asia

Is there something to this?...or should I just climb back into my hole of ignorance?

HEY Blvd., The airlines you're listing are INTERNATIONAL. The airlines Loki is flying are domestic (within the United States). Many codes are similar, and the difference is only whether its an international airline or a US airline. :) Hope that explains your curiosity

I still think there is something to this. The fact that her voice mail at AMD in Austin matches up to her name.

The one number we have not found yet is the one to the Blackberry she uses...

Fortunately...or unfortunately (as I may be up all night) I hit on something that is possibly pulling several pieces of this together.

I was looking at how mnemonics are possibly being used in some of the clues and messages. Perhaps there was more to a number than just discovering it I thought.

I took the number I have for Loki's voicemail at AMD Austin and ran it through a mnemonic generator.

The number is 512-602-5654 or you can drop the area code and use just 602-5654...Here is the result

There are only two 10 letter mnemonics

512-602-5654 = 51-am-0-Al-OK-I And --- 51-an-0-Al-OK-I

and only one 7 letter mnemonic

602-5654 = 60-Al-OK-I

The word mnemonic is derived from the Ancient Greek word μνημονικός mnemonikos ("of memory") and the first known reference to mnemonics is the method of loci described in Cicero's De Oratore.

But there is even more....I believe I'm on the right track with this. Thoughts?

Not true, in many games they do but few people notice it.

I tell you another reason why I spent some time following that lead is because together with

that image there is another image that gets overimposed to the base image in the first

frame, unless you have an ultra slow machine you will never see the legend, when I first

found the image I thought, hmmm is this something that was supposed to vanish ?

Then I went for additional digging and found nothing besides the curiosity why the heck

they put it there ?

BTW to satisfy your curiosity here is the image that gets overimpossed on the first frame.

Perhaps. But I am a strong believer that this is not one of "many games".

My hunch is that somewhere in the clues is another mneumonic that provides a phone number or URL that brings us closer to solving this, if not finding Loki.

OK. LEts work on that. Lets see...who are the ONLY providers in the country to offer Blackberry with their service?

I know T-Mobile is...who else?

OK ..so its NOT T-Mobile..lol.....its Verizon and Cingular. Lets see...where can we go from there? :) She (Loki) will be "thrilled" if we found out her cell number, lol

You are right on that, remember that this is just a "marketing campaign" related to the

Vista launch and designed to generate a lot of buzz. I'm kind of surprised that I've not

found additional media coverage and it seems that besides the Belagio event

(when and at what time you will not find a lot of people in Vegas hanging around?

and a lot of geeks when CES is there ?) it doesn't seem that a lot of people showed

up for the other events.

Still it's an interesting challenge, and a good example of how cooperative work

around the world can produce interesing results, that BTW is not the way msft

develop their products ...

While googling "Loki Blackberry" (Dumb idea, i know) , i found this:

Loki for Internet Explorer (exe)

Loki is a location-based search and location-sharing browser toolbar. Leveraging Skyhook's Wi-Fi Positioning System (WPS) to automatically define a user's exact physical location, this customizable toolbar turns a Wi-Fi-enabled laptop into a 'virtual GPS' device and integrates location into your Internet search, browsing, and communications. You can customize Loki to ...

The best explanation we had on that is that the pregame initiated with bloggers and "tag" is very common in

the blog jargon.

What about the solution to the Gravity Lock puzzle??

Either the # (7451236) or the the number coresponding to "secrecy" (732-7328).

Two possibles.

Well, yes. I firmly believe that Microsoft was NOT hoping to get a big turn-up of people on those events. This was mainly aimed at the online community, and seems like they have surpassed their expectations and succeeded :)

On another note, whats going on w/ the search of that Blackberry stuff? Lets grill it. :)

Interesting. I think you're on to something here, Treep :) Im going to look up both numbers and see who they're registered to :)

Any suggestions what area codes I should use? There are a lot of references to Austin, Texas. What is the area code there? Any ideas?

PS. GOOD NEWS! My foreign currency exchange bets that I just checked had gone up $3,303.00 :) YAY

I just called 866-745-1236 ...and they say Welcome to Telephone Conference. Please enter your pass code.

Hmmm.....

Refer to this: http://vanishingpointwiki.com/wiki/Contact_Information

The numbers we discovered start with (800), (866), and (877) .

So, Anyone there with Austin, Texas area code(s)?

On WhitePages.com, to see the 800 number (745-1236), they want to charge 14.95 :( The good news is, they say "Name found" , "Address Found" ....perhaps this is somethign we should do?

Austin is 512.

Question, why are we so sure it's a Blackberry ? Model ?

I'm asking because I'm not 100% convinced it's a Blackberry.

Because I can tell a Blackberry when I see one :)...and GUESS WHAT??????

I have Loki's Cell # !!!!!!!!!! :) hehehehehehehhe I just texted her "Vanishing Point =)"

LOL...lets see what comes out of this...

My dear Confusious! (thats what is intended, is it not?)

As long as its a Blackberry, we should find out which Cell companies provide service for the Blackberry. Its Cingular and Verizon...only those two.

In WHITE PAGES, click on "Reverse Number look up" and type in the Austin Area Code (512) + the sequence in the puzzle "7451236" ....see the result they give you ;-)

If you can guess the model we may have a better chance to match that to potential

providers, many providers support just few models.

I was looking at a 360 view of the pearl model but it doesn't look like the one in the video.

The thing is, it doesnt matter what model it is. As long as its a Blackberry, all models are supporeted by only two companies, so there's no need to dig around deeper to come out to the same result. The bottom line is Blackberry = Verizion or Cingular.

Did you do the search? Like what you see? :)

Go to Zabasearch.com

Type in "Loki" and check "In all 50 states"...

Scroll to the bottom and there are 4 entries that read "V Loki" hmm..wasnt that her Microsoft E-Mail? Perhaps Lorelei is NOT her real first name. Perhaps her first name begins with a "V"?

Not really, if you go to the blackberry page or each individual carrier they will show you what models

they support, the list I posted before is from the blackberry site where they list all the carriers that

have services for blackberry.

But I'll agree that most probably has to be a major carrier.

    • Apple reluctantly forces strict new age checks on Texas users starting today by Paul Hill Apple will begin enforcing the Texas Age Assurance Law (SB 2420) following a recent court ruling that lifted an injunction on SB 2420. Starting June 4 (today), Apple will enforce strict age-verification and parental-consent rules for new Apple accounts created in Texas. This move will affect children under 18 who go to download apps or attempt to make in-app purchases. Apple previously expressed privacy concerns related to this law, but compliance is now mandatory for the company, nevertheless. Apple will use several APIs to follow the law. Principally, the Declared Age Range API will fetch the specific user age bracket (Under 13, 13-15, 16-17, or 18+) and a verification method. The Significant Change API (PermissionKit) will trigger a system dialog for parental consent if an app gets a major update or an age-rating shift. There is also a new property type in StoreKit that allows developers to automatically check when their app’s age rating has changed on a user’s device and then use the Significant Change API to request parental consent. Finally, App Store Server Notifications can be configured to tell developers when a parent revokes consent, blocking app launches. To ensure they are ready for these changes, developers must immediately use Apple’s sandbox testing environment to validate these APIs in their apps. For any developers out there finding this to be inconvenient, get used to it. Other regions, such as Utah, Louisiana, and Brazil, are looking at, or have implemented, similar rules.
