Didn't they show the doctor as a child once and he was a boy though.

Indeed, which is why this would be a massive retcon that would effectively wreck everything we know about Doctor Who... And if they do that, I'm done with it.  It won't be the show I grew up with anymore, and I've been watching since the Pertwee days.

It could be an alternate dimension thing like they did with the new Star Trek movies.

The new female might be the doctor, but that doesn't mean the little boy wasn't the real doctor too.

This new doctor might just be a form before the original first doctor. Who knows how many regenerations the doctor may have actually had at this point?

Remember the Master did say that everything the Doctor knows is really a lie.

Although the Master might not be telling the truth. So out of character, I know.

That season finally was nuts this season

Spoiler

The Doctor is not actually one of his/her race.

Her poor planet though; had to genocide the rest of the gallifreyans so the ultimate cybermen couldn't get out. I can't help but wonder if any of them survived that though.

Can't wait to see what next season brings. This season was definitely better than the last IMO

It's nothing more than a  "woke" redux of the Cartmel Masterplan from the late 80's during McCoy's tenure as the doctor. They even put several hints to the plan throughout several of the final season episodes, such as the Dr being Merlin but not remembering being Merlin...  Essentially, they didn't like that the Dr was just turning out to be a regular Timelord so invented a mysterious being, called The Other, who worked with Rassillon and Omega to create time travel technology, but was not of Gallifrey and was actually immortal but had lost his memory for some reason or other.

Eventually the whole idea was abandoned for many quite sensible reasons (such as the show got canned) and it seems like Chibnall might have come across Cartmel's original notes and jumped on the idea...

Why? Dr Who is dead. I won't even watch that trailer. Chibnall destroyed 50+ years of established canon and shat in the face of William Hartnell, and there's no coming back from that short of the BBC firing his fat ass out of a cannon, publicly apologising and declaring everything he did as erased.

While last season didn't blow me away, the big change it introduced made the doctor more important now. The doctors mystery is no longer tied to the timelords. I hope this is just part one of Chibnall's story and not a winging it situation.

Exactly how I feel about it. I'm giving it a shot. Plus... I just love Jodi.

oh wow, on to the next doctor already?

I guess this will be her 3rd season which is about the shorter average for the doctors these days.

Jodie I don't care about, she's not the one that ruined the show she's just an actor doing her job.  Chibnall leaving is the big story here. Good riddance to that a-hole.  I just hope whoever the new person is, they actually have some respect for the show.

Sadly, the damage to 50+ years of history is already done.  It's going to be pretty hard to undo it short of handwaving it away.

It's still going to be hard for me to get back into Dr. Who after the past couple of

crap seasons. We'll see what happens, but I'm one of the old, bitter fans.

I’m both an old and a new fan. I just felt that capaldi was given utter crap to work with and Jodi even worse.

A new show runner, who respects but doesn’t keep returning to the old stuff is what’s needed.

From what I was told Chibnall is leaving too with Jodi so yay.

I was also informed that the three top choices for the new Doctor may very well be Olly Alexander, Vicky Mcclure, and/or Michaela Coel.

Exciting times. With a new Doctor, and a new show runner this has the possiblity of being great indeed.

yeah Flux has been great. Can't freakin wait for the last episode this weekend.

Flux was an extended 6 episode special but I'm not sure if that's all that's planned this season or not. They may continue back on the normal episode format after this or maybe they'll just jump right to season 14. we'll have to wait and see.

I do hope this isn't all we're going to get until later next year.

I love this Lady! Been watching DW since the Pertwee era, but when there were murmurings in the early 1980s about the possibility of a female Doctor in the future, I got together with a few actor friends, and we made two female DW fan films, just for fun. One in 1982 ran about 15 minutes, and one in 1988 ran a half-hour. I screened them at a couple of local sci-fi fan conventions and two DW fan clubs, and while they didn't go over too well with most people, others came up and congratulaed me on my "bravery" lol. I think the films were among the best of my nearly hundred short films I had made since 1970, but it helped to have a couple of superb actors in the cast. I built full-scale sets in a two-car garage for both of my DW fan films, and had a fair bit of miniature special effects. (In between my two short films, I worked on a couple of "real" movies in L.A.)

I have only seen the first season/series of DW with Ms. Whitaker, love her in the role!

    • You can't remove Safari though. Or almost any other bundled app for that matter, and pretty much all of them are useless to me (and there are is a heap of them compared to Windows). I'll much rather take Edge than Safari, at least it can be highly customized vs. Safari. I'll take a PC with ten Edges over a Mac any day though as I can't stand all the limitation and painfully frustrationg restriction that make me dislike their stuff with a burning passion, iOS included (especially iOS).
    • DVD only? What kind of self-respecting optical disk backup/ripping tool doesn't support Blu-ray these days? I burned all my DVDs like 15+ years ago...

    • Glow 26.9 by Razvan Serea Glow provides detailed reporting on every hardware component in your computer, saving you valuable time typically spent searching for CPU, motherboard, RAM, graphics card, and other stats. With Glow, all the information is conveniently presented in one clean interface, allowing you to easily access and review the comprehensive hardware details of your system. Glow provides detailed information on various system aspects, including OS, motherboard, processor, memory, graphics card, storage, network, battery, drivers, and services. The well-organized format ensures easy access to the required information. You can export all the gathered data to a plain text file, facilitating sharing with others for troubleshooting purposes. No installation needed. Just decompress the archive, launch the executable, and access computer-related information. Glow runs on Windows 11 and Windows 10 64-bit versions. Glow 26.9 changelog: New Features The processor hardware detection engine has been significantly enhanced beyond traditional Intel and AMD architectures. Native support is now available for modern platforms such as Apple Silicon (M-Series) and the newly introduced NVIDIA Spark. In addition, all ARM-based processors can now be accurately distinguished between ARM32 and ARM64 architectures, providing precise hardware reporting. This marks a major milestone for Glow's hardware detection capabilities. The RAM manufacturer identification algorithm has been expanded. JEDEC vendor codes for popular brands such as Patriot, PNY, Team Group, GeIL, Lexar (Longsys), and Asgard/Gloway have been integrated into the database. This significantly reduces the likelihood of incorrect or "Unknown Manufacturer" results and improves overall hardware detection accuracy. New Public IP Address and Internet Service Provider (ISP) features have been added to the Network section. To ensure reliability, this information is retrieved from the trusted service ipwho.is. When Hiding Mode is enabled, no requests are sent and these features remain hidden, as they may expose sensitive information. The search engine used in the Installed Drivers, Installed Services, and Installed Applications sections has been enhanced. You can now perform more flexible and accurate searches using initials, partial matches, and loosely arranged character sequences. The TS Preloader loading bar has been rebuilt using our modern TS Custom Controls graphics library, developed entirely in-house. As a result of this infrastructure upgrade, the loading bar now features smooth rendering and rounded corners that align with the visual style of Windows 11. [TS Updater] A new validation algorithm has been added to check whether the target application is currently running before the update process begins. Bug Fixes Resolved a condition that could prevent TS Preloader from shutting down safely during rare application crash scenarios. Fixed a text alignment issue in the Network section affecting the display of DNS addresses. Alignment is now rendered correctly. [TS Updater] Fixed an issue that could prevent the updated application's executable "*.exe" file from being located after the update process. [TS Updater] Fixed a bug that could leave outdated "*.sha256" files in the application directory after an update. [TS Updater] Fixed a rare issue that could cause subfolders to be moved into the root directory after an update. [TS Updater] Fixed an issue during the first launch that could cause flickering and a temporary white window appearance due to Windows Defender interactions. Changes A small improvement has been made to the internet connectivity detection algorithm. Connectivity checks are now performed in the background with minimal impact on the user interface thread. The keyboard shortcuts in the top menu have been reorganized and simplified to provide a consistent experience across all Türkaysoft applications and to avoid potential conflicts with standard Windows shortcuts. The TS Preloader splash image has been updated with a Türkiye-themed stadium design to celebrate Türkiye's qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup—its first appearance in 24 years. Congratulations, Türkiye! The TS Custom Controls module has been updated to version 26.6, delivering improved stability and a more polished visual appearance. [TS Updater] The application icon has been redesigned to provide a more modern and refined look. Note: Always unzip the program before using it. Otherwise you may get an error.
