You guys are finding stuff that isn't there.

Raj only hits on women when he is drunk. Sheldon might seem like he is more stupid, but it's the kind of stupid where he is too smart to understand it, not that he actual is stupider.

Yeah, Sheldon is slightly different than he was in the first season but it's not a big deal.

Did anyone else think that the solution to the problem he was working was really obvious anyone with any knowledge of quantum physics would be very aware of wave particle duality and the de broglie wavelength. He wouldn't have even thought about it for a second.

No he is not (at least not anymore).

Some episodes behind when he went with Sheldon on a party and they hooked up he started talking and hiting on the girl that approached them by having just ONE sip of his drink. He was drunk after one sip? Also later on when they go to Sheldon's aprtment and he is singing while Sheldon is playing the guitar is he drunk there too? I dont recall showing him drinking anything before that and no it is not implied.

However they seem to realize they did a stupid thing on this episode and they are slowly turning it back with regards to Raj's problem about speaking in front of women.

As i said there is a definetely a change in all characters (some more some less) and whether someone likes the show after that is strictly his opinion. This though does not change the facts.

I personally stil find it enjoyable but i would prefer the characters to remain exactly as on Season 2 and on the other stuff less double dating BS and more geeky stuff as this is what made the show to have such a success.

It's called character development, people change over time - so will characters. It keeps it fresh.

And 0nyx - in the episode that Mr. Rappy posted they show that alcohol is just a placebo with Raj :)

andrew_f completely agree. :)

All i am trying to say is that you cant just change his character (no matter if someone agrres or not) in a crucial way and all of a sudden turning a very shy guy (for 2 seasons now) into a guy that tries to persuade his friends to go out with him in order to hit on girls.I think one will agree that this is going from one end to the other.

Completely agree on the alcohol placebo thing though.I am mostly reffering to his character.

A minor traffic infraction lands Sheldon in court in the March 1 episode of The Big Bang Theory, but it?s what Jim Parsons calls his ?lack of delicacy with the English language? that prompts the judge to throw him in the pokey (thus causing him to miss meeting his idol, comic-book legend Stan Lee.)

EW

I don't think that's fair at all. His character isn't stupid, he's sleep deprived and that can really mess someone up. He had this complex issue and was losing sleep over it. He said, what, he had gone two or three days without sleep.

I have read that anymore than three days without sleep will cause hallucination, a few more days causes paranoia to set in and eventually it'll lead to death. Death isn't a direct result, but without sleep you can become extremely ill which then can lead to death.

The writers did a decent job of writing someone without several days worth of sleep. I've tried going to three and I couldn't make it. I was told that I acted like I was drunk after only 36 hours.

A few years ago I couldn't sleep (normally it lasts only for a few hours, this lasted for 4 days)

By the 3rd day, my perception of time was non-linear.

Wasn't there one episode when he was flirting with a girl, and somebody pointed out the drink he had was non-alcoholic (and when he realised, he stopped being able to talk to the girl)

That would suggest it's a psychological thing :p

While the ball pit scene was funny, it went on a tad too long and also they are really starting to wear out the "bazinga" catch phrase. It wasn't really that funny to begin with and now it's just annoying. Another thing, I think the show really lost something when they started getting girlfriends. At this rate it's going to turn into just another generic sitcom, like a nerdy version of Friends.

Oh yeah, and bring back Sara! :)

andrew_f completely agree. smile.gif

why, maybe you're a stud and girls just drop at your feet at a single hand gesture.. but for me back in my ealier 20s i was so shy/quiet people didnt even know i was in the room. but a change of job, 5 very hot admin girls took me under there wings and before long i was out every weekend. they were my wing girls.. as before then my so called wing man (best friend) was anything but useful.

which is probably why i love BingBang Theory i can relate with the characters i know people like them.

My fave episode was the one where it opens up with the World of Warcraft and Sheldon get the Sword of (whatever).. that whole segment mirrored the conversation the Tech chaps at work were having daily... to say i ****ed myself laughing and falling of my chair was an understatement...

long may BBT live :)

nice little story u got there .

Doesn't chnage the fact that they had a change in Raj's character which i understand you agree there has been a change judging by your story.

Again: Not talking about the alcohol now.

Can't wait for the new episode.

then surely you believe Penny character as been changed to allow to now fancy Howard, or that Howard is less geeky that he can get Penny. Maybe you believe no character can grow/change over a period of time and that EVery series the characters at the end of the shows life time are identical to how they started in the Pilot episode? i would dare you to name 1 show that is the case.

As was mentioned before Raj found he grew in confidence when he was drunk and it was pointed out to him.. now he thinks thats the way to go.. doesn't matter he got alcholic beer, he still thought it was real. amazing what the placebo effect can do.

anyways.. still a fabulous show to watch.. and can't wait for the next one

    • JetBrains is working to cut false positives in RustRover 2026.2 by David Uzondu Recently, JetBrains released the fifth EAP build of its dedicated IDE, RustRover 2026.2, bringing improvements like a Run gutter icon for criterion_main! macro benchmarking and a feature that alerts you when there are unused traits in your current scope. Now, the company is out with a blog post addressing one of the "most common" complaints from users: false positives. In RustRover, a false positive occurs when the editor incorrectly highlights something as an error even though the project compiles and runs successfully. This mismatch flags a gap between the IDE's internal intelligence and the actual compiler. When the editor flashes red warnings over perfectly valid code, developers lose trust in the tool, which stalls momentum. Traditionally, RustRover runs cargo check to detect compiler errors and warnings, but it also relies on its own code analysis engine to power real-time features. To provide quick feedback, this engine parses your source code into a syntax tree while inferring types and resolving names as you type. Because this engine must work on broken, half-written code and react instantly, its logic sometimes diverges from the compiler's, producing false positives that do not exist in the compiler's eyes. JetBrains said that it has a "dedicated task force" focused specifically on identifying and fixing false positives by analyzing user reports and examining large-scale open-source projects. To speed up this process, the team built an internal system modeled after Crater, the famous Rust project that compiles and runs tests for every single crate published on crates.io. This automated pipeline compares the diagnostics from RustRover's analysis with actual compiler output to catch discrepancies before they reach users, ensuring smoother workflows. RustRover, for those who're unaware, is a dedicated IDE designed specifically for Rust developers. It's been around for a couple of years now, providing features like built-in debugging via LLDB, seamless cargo integration, advanced macro expansion, and HTML support. JetBrains distributes the app under two licensing models: a paid commercial subscription and a free option for non-commercial use.
    • Last year I bought the 2TB variant for $114 on Amazon. That's crazy that the 1TB is now 67% more expensive for half the storage, even with the newer T9 already on the market. And that's considered a good deal.
    • You can disable all non needed features from Brave. There is also Brave Origin which removes them entirely and it is free for Linux.
    • I wish I could use Brave but the tab suspension feature is horrible. It doesn't suspend them like Edge does. Even after 2h open with 70+ tabs (same as Edge), it has 2GB more consumption than Edge for no reason.
