Is he still working alone on the project? or has he gotten support?

PS3 supports DTS, but not from the XMB bar :(

AC3 5.1 DD is good enough (Y)

The 360 can't even do AC3 5.1 and a non-transcoded MKV at the same time, it's one or the other!

3r1c said it himself,

there is no way to get 5.1 audio and h264 to work on xbox 360, its one or the other.

Edit , having a problem with this release , when it remux's to vob it does it in less than 30 seconds yet it creates a vob thats 0kb in size , any idea's ? added all the exe's to ignore application and do not skin it in windowblinds as that caused problems before hand in the older releases but this time its not doing anything :s , worst thing is i deleted the previous release from the comp so stuck with this one lol any help would be appreciated :)

edit 2 , nevermind seemed it was one bad mkv files just tried another one and it worked , nice and fast too :)

The insufficient space issue still persists :(

I have 10gb free on my primary partition(where temp folder is)

I have 54gb free on my secondary partition where both the movie is, my moved temp folder, my output folder and mkv2vob itself :/

lol. well at least now i know the problem is not in the free space detection but the required space calculation.

ill have a look at it.

oh wait i think i figured it out myself.

your using foreign windows xp with (,) as a decimal seperator arent you?

mkvinfo returns the length in seconds of the movie like 1234.567 which on normal windows will round to 1234 but if your seperator is comma it will round to 1234567 thus the required space becomes 1000x what it should be.

I will fix this.

Im making option in the next version to add the subtitles even if language the same, and load from a seperate srt file.

Another update incoming.

Great news for those wanting to add external subtitles, that aren't included in the MKV.

latest version is out

V2.0.4 25/Feb/2008

Added Always Encode Subtitles option.

Added Load Subtitles from SRT option (put srt file in same folder as mkv with same name).

Added Overscan Compensation option (if subtitles look cut off on your tv).

Added more detailed descriptions for config options.

Added various other small improvements.

Fixed "Insufficient Disk Space" error where your decimal seperator of your OS is not a dot (some foreign windows versions).

Fixed "Type mismatch" run time error for some people.

Good thread but way too much work to play warezed movies. Xvid rips from torrent sites stream just fine to my 360, as well as the planet earth 720p hd series. shrug.

hmmm hardly too much work , since is fast as hell 2 mins for a 1.07gig file to remux hardly too much work specially when it does it all for you but each to their own :) remuxing even 1080p films now takes no time at all :) besides for me trying to watch a xvid on a 46inch hdtv is just poor quality lol only ever watch hd stuff now :)

Divx movies look decent on my 50 inch but dont compare it to a 720p or a 1080p movie! And the work that is done is nothing to watch HD content!

Maybe so, but if they're MKV, TVersity will be transcoding them on the fly.

I know, it's how I used to get my MKVs playing on my PS3 ;)

Transcoding looses video quality! not worth getting a mkv file and transcoding it on the fly! Right now I see no other way that will let you keep video quality and sound then mkvtovob! best way to watch your HD content on your PS3!! hands down!!

Audioboxer, is it possible that you could ask a feature request for me? :D

It would be nice if once you select input folder - it automatically choose the same folder as output folder

The first mkv2vob without the fancy new interface did this, sorta

Sony announces its new Airpeak drone at CES 2021
      by Jay Bonggolto

Sony announced today its new drone that it says is built specifically for professional photography and video creation. The Airpeak was unveiled at Sony's CES 2021 presentation.

While this is the first time that the company is showing off its new drone, Airpeak was originally mentioned in a press release from Sony back in November of last year, with a vague description stating it was meant to "support the creativity of video creators". Back then, it was introduced as a drone project in the field of artificial intelligence robotics, with no actual image of what it looked like.

Today, Sony released a video demonstrating the drone in action. Airpeak was used to shoot the road test of Sony's Vision-S all-electric concept sedan in Austria. An α7S III full-frame mirrorless camera was mounted on the drone to capture the vehicle while running.

The Japanese company claims Airpeak is "the industry's smallest class of drone that can be equipped with the Alpha system". It has four rotors and two landing arms that lift when the drone takes off.

Airpeak can perform dynamic filming and stable flight to empower video creators in the field of entertainment with "new possibilities for creative expression". Sony is planning to introduce a new business aimed at photography and video production professionals in the spring as part of the first phase of its drone project.

Universal Media Server is a DLNA-compliant UPnP Media Server. UMS was started by SubJunk, an official developer of PMS, in order to ensure greater stability and file-compatibility. The program streams or transcodes many different media formats with little or no configuration. It is powered by MEncoder, FFmpeg, tsMuxeR, AviSynth, MediaInfo and more, which combine to offer support for a wide range of media formats. Because it is written in Java, Universal Media Server supports all major operating systems, with versions for Windows, Linux and Mac OS X.

      DLNA browsing

When browsing a TV show in the Media Library, all videos across all seasons are visible. There are two new folders within the Movies and TV Shows folders - Filter by Progress and Filter by Information. Filter by Progress contains the Watched and Unwatched folders which used to sit within the Videos folder in the Media Library Filter by Information lets you filter the videos by a new rich metadata set (actors, genres, country, director, genre, IMDb rating, release date). Alongside that is a similar folder Filter by Information which lets you filter the videos by API metadata (actors, genres, etc.) New folders Recently Added, Recently Played, In Progress and Most Played are in the Media Library Web interface

Added breadcrumbs at the top of each page When in the TV Shows area of the Media Library, the TV shows themselves are shown as thumbnails, with covers from the API When browsing a TV show, a movie, or a TV episode, any API metadata is displayed along with a large cover image, including actors, awards, classification, country, directors, genres, plot, ratings, year, and total seasons. On those pages above, the colors on the pages are based on the cover image Clicking on an individual actor, country, director, genre, or start year, takes you to a list of other media that matches that metadata The last few items in the Recently Added, Recently Played, In Progress and Most Played folders are displayed on the front page Each TV show and movie has an IMDb icon and direct link if one is found Folder and media covers are shown Fixed bugs with the Back button Version has moved to the settings menu Minor design updates General

API is enabled even without filename prettifying Failed API lookups are debounced by 1 week to avoid network spam Changed prettified season/episode number formatting from Series - 101 - Episode to Series S01E01 - Episode Fixed some bugs with prettifying to support more files Added support for audio playlist thumbnails (thanks, sf666!) Sony discontinues most PlayStation 4 models to make room for PlayStation 5
      by João Carrasqueira

Sony has put an end to the production of most PlayStation 4 models, according to a report from Japanese website Game Watch. The company has ended production of all models of the PlayStation 4 Pro, the high-end refresh of the console, as well as most models of the PlayStation 4 "Slim", which has been the base unit of the console since 2016.

Looking at the company's Japanese website, only the 500GB PlayStation 4 in Jet Black is now available to buy, with the PlayStation 4 Pro removed from the purchase page altogether. Over in the United States, while the Pro model still shows up, only the base model shows the option to buy (though it's currently out of stock). Production has also seemingly ended for any other color variants of the console.

The discontinuation of these models will allow Sony to repurpose the production lines to make more PlayStation 5 units, as the console has fallen victim to stock shortages. It also makes sense to get rid of the more expensive PlayStation 4 Pro, which officially cost the same as a PlayStation 5 Digital Edition and is significantly less capable.

In fact, Microsoft did the same thing even before the Xbox Series X and S launched. The company discontinued both Xbox One X and the Xbox One S All-Digital Edition, leaving only the most affordable and compatible entry point into the Xbox ecosystem, the Xbox One S.

If you were hoping to nab one of the models that's being discontinued, you may want to do it soon, before stock runs out.

Sony has announced the Indian launch date for the PlayStation 5
      by Namerah Saud Fatmi

Image via PlayStation India Following its October release in North America and some other regions, Sony has finally officially decided to bring its next-gen console to the Indian market. The PlayStation 5's Indian launch date was revealed today along with a few other details.

As seen in the announcement made on Twitter by PlayStation India, the PS5 will be available to purchase in the Indian region on February 2, 2021. Local residents will be able to place their pre-orders in about ten days; from January 12 onwards. Pre-orders will go live at 12:00 PM (IST) on that day.

Sony India has also mentioned some of its official retail partners in the Asian country. These are Amazon India, Flipkart, Croma, Reliance Digital, Games The Shop, Shop at Sony Center, Vijay Sales and more.

As for the price of the video game system in India, this was announced back in October. The PlayStation 5 will set customers back ₹49,990 ($685) whereas the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition will cost ₹39,990 ($550). In context, the US prices are $499 (₹36,470) and $399 (₹29,160) for the respective versions of the console.
