Battlefield Bad Company

I've not received it yet, but I wouldn't mind telling them what I think about the game :p

edit: wait, why are MGS conducting the survey for a game made by EA/DICE

Believe me, I told them what I thought about it!

You are receiving this message because you are part of the MGS Beta program.

This is the part I don't get.

This couldnt have been for the beta. The end of survey asked alot of questions about Conquest.

Microsoft is planning on buying DICE, making it a 1. party developer.

Yes going to go with Massiveterra and have to doubt you. :p Turns out after looking through some old emails, and signing into my account at the MS Connect site, I signed up for some MGS Beta Program awhile back.

I completely forgot that I did it. This is the first time I've gotten any sort of communication from MGS.

Does Anybody have a spare that they dont need, getting the unlock for the Sniper rifle is basing my decision on getting the game, as the rest of the 5 for 5 are easily gettable to a degree.

so far what iv played while borrowing it from a friend is its pretty cool.

Pretty much everyone here does not have the sniper rifle unlock, in fact I do not know of 1 person who does have it. Having that unlocked though should not be the decision maker in getting the game though :) You mention you have played it a little so you know what it's like, buy it, you won't regret it :)

I had a funny team kill the other night. I was stuck in a house, only way out easily was a door so I went to knife it and for some damn, unexplained reason, a teammate was right behind me and jumped in front. BAM! Knifed him and the door! I couldn't stop laughing.

As far as the MP compared to CoD4, BF is hands-down more fun. I was really high on CoD4 when it came out and I loved it but as time went on and BF came out, I found the MP so much more fun and exciting on BF. I went and tried CoD4 MP the other day to see if I could get back into it. 15 minutes later I was done and since I beat the SP, I'll be trading it in. I'm not sure I can even explain why that is. It just didn't feel right at all. BF is a game you can join in at any time and have fun with. If you aren't leveled up on CoD4, forget it.

It will be released as either part of paid DLC or for free in a foreseeable future, that's what they said.

Well that's good to know (Y) As long as the DLC isn't for the gun alone, then that'll be ok. They should bundle it with new maps or game modes ala GRAW2 style.

I finally unlocked the Uzi last night after trying for ages to get in a match on the Demo. All I have left is the sniper obviously, but I won't even use it tbh, I just want it for completion sake.

Finally, have the house to myself for an entire week - late night gaming :woot:

Anyone playing tonight?

Think my guild will be raiding old content tonight, so I may all of a sudden loose my internet right when we start, and appear on x360. If not I'll be on at some point.

If I went back to playing like I did, I could easily do that :p But I'm that bored of the game I can't play for long sessions anymore.

I've ordering chinese takeaway and will maybe watch a tv/movie, then I'll be back on. So probably around 10. Maybe earlier.

Hey Munky, are you the Noodle Doodle Man?

HeHe

God I feel old, I remember that advert and Jon Pertwee singing the song :(

So I finished the Demo to earn the Uzi, plenty of games going on last night.

@Sethos and Munky, I remember playing a week ago or so, and a question came up about the physics engine used, it is indeed Havok. It says so in the trademark screen.

Also, is it true that if you play the SP on Hard, the acheivements do not stack, and you dont get normal difficulty acheivements at same time?

That is correct the achievements do not stack, which is why they have seperate achievements for each level. The gold/weapon finding is different, in that you can unluck the achievement in any level, you but in order to gain the found them all achievement you have to replay each level to find the missing ones. Handily when you finish the game, there is a list of levels you can replay with a list of what you missed 3 gold 2 weapons etc ...

Yeah most games have seperate achievements per level for each difficulty, but alot of them stack.

Oh Well.

    • This one baffles me...so they are creating a museum based around the Ship of Theseus? A museum is supposed to preserve things. It doesn't really work if the conversation goes, "I gazed upon Starry Night the other day, the colours were beautiful!" "Yeah...I didn't expect Godzilla to show up, though." Create a building devoted to displaying AI work, fine. The rainforest idea sounds interesting and I would consider visiting if they pay me a few bucks. But don't call it a museum...
    • >defenders of AI-generated artworks often claim that AI is just a tool It is not. It is the inhuman artist replacement. The human writing the prompt is the employer/manager requesting the work product of the artist -- a supervisory/descriptive job that doesn't carry with it any rights to the copyright of that work product at all. And since AI is not human itself, it can't gain copyright for anything it is asked to regurgitate or hallucinate, so it can't transfer that copyright to the employer/manager/human who asked for the output. This was all legally reaffirmed last year. So, no, while there are AI tools, AI slopware generation is NOT a "tool" in the legal definition of that word.
    • As long as i get to play GTA 6 before it ends 😂😂
    • Google is opening the world's first AI museum in Los Angeles by Ivan Jenic Image via: Google Ever since AI image generators went mainstream, the debate over whether AI-generated art is real art hasn't let up. Those who don’t consider AI to be art say that if a machine does the creating and anyone can prompt it, there’s no skill involved, and therefore no art is produced. The counter-argument is equally persistent, as defenders of AI-generated artworks often claim that AI is just a tool, and that every major technological breakthrough, like the camera or the computer, was met with the same skepticism before eventually being accepted as a legitimate creative medium. Google’s position in this debate is clear. Which is no surprise, as the company is investing billions in AI infrastructure. And now, in efforts to encourage people to use its AI even more, Google is opening Dataland on June 20, which it's calling the world's first AI arts museum. Located inside The Grand LA, a Frank Gehry-designed building in Los Angeles, the museum spans 25,000 square feet. The museum is built around a collaboration with media artist Refik Anadol, who has worked with Google since 2016. The inaugural exhibition is called Machine Dreams: Rainforest, and is powered by an AI model trained on “an extensive dataset of the natural world.” It generates 1.2 billion pixels of visuals in real time and reacts to visitors dynamically. The space also generates soundscapes, real-time emotion sensing, and algorithmically produced scents. Image via: Refik Anadol Studio / Google Google says that the museum is powered by its Gemini models, which run on Google Cloud. So, everything is generated inside one of Google’s AI data centers and is streamed to the museum. Alongside the museum opening, Google Arts & Culture is funding an AI Artist Residency, giving four artists $25,000 grants each, along with mentorship from Refik Anadol Studio and access to Google's machine learning tools. Their work will be shown at Dataland and on the Google Arts & Culture website later this year. Google’s AI museum will undoubtedly initiate a fired-up debate on social media, and we can’t wait to see the first reactions. Via: Smithsonian Magazine
    • Calling GTA 6 overhyped crap doesn’t make you edgy, it just makes you sound like someone who hasn’t enjoyed anything since the PS2 era.
