[Official] SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation

Recommended Posts

Hanging out with a friend tonight, few beers and perhaps some women* so I'll send out those invites as soon as possible.

*women may avoid us, so we compensate with more beer.

EDIT: Well, you also need to send me a friend invite if you want in :)

Today has been really bad on SOCOM logging on to the servers is fine but then when tryin to find a game that would start or that didnt lag like hell was really hard and if u did get in a room and it was laggy and u tried to exit u cudnt you had to try just quit the game which wudnt work and the ps3 would just automatically switch itself off and restart and at one stage i think i was doing it that often that when the ps3 was tryin to restart i got an error at start up sayin something along the lines of "Incorrent HDD in drive" which sounds pretty bad so im gona give SOCOM a rest for a bit lol!

SOCOM: Confrontation Public Beta 1.10 Patch and Server update

Posted by Seth Luisi

We will be performing server maintenance and rolling out a new patch on September 9th at 5am PDT, 1200 GMT. The SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation game servers will be unavailable during the maintenance. The server maintenance is not expected to last longer than 1 1/2 hours.

SOCOM: Confrontation Public Beta 1.10 Patch

Adds support for European EULAs.

Adds support for dedicated servers located in Europe and Australia.

Addresses a number of stability and late joining issues.

Reduce the volume of the proximity chat by 50%.

The server maintenance and patch are not meant to address all issues. We will have more updates to both the server and client in the future.

Regards,

SOCOM Confrontation Online Team

Woo

hopefully it will sort out or atleast make things quicker for us.

But a 50% volume reduction in proximity chat? its not exactly that loud now, was a groovy little feature, and always had me on edge when i would hear someone elses voice but i wasnt near anyone on my team.

and now realising that it is 8.15am, i think i'll go back to bed, lol.

I actually found the proximity chat to be already really quiet, I'm not gonna be able to hear people now after the 50% reduction :/

I find all chat very quiet with my Socom 2 USB Headset let alone the Proximity Chat.

Its really hard to hear people and the volume is on full on the headset and in game.........

Did they not do that in SOCOM 3?

Weird, I guess I am the only one who thought the proximity chat was to loud, I had to turn my entire system down because of it. Just curious, how many of you guys have 5.1 sound as well?

Using 6.1 sound

Also, when are we playing again? :)

Hopefully soon, just a hectic week for me. My wife is leaving for Europe a week before I do, so that means this Friday morning, so a lot to wrap up before she leaves.

That does mean though I have 6 days to myself, which besides partying with my friends one or two nights means lots of time to play games that week before I leave.

Sethos, since your clan leader, what are the armour colour choices?

i went on and fetched the update which got rid of my character data, but i went to change armour colours and one is now clan chosen. o.o

So make sure you choose some appropriate colours for Urban, Desert and Night, lol, and no white, dont want to stick out like a sore thumb in a night map. :p

As I said, if anybody wants a clan invite, add me to your friends list and I'll send you one. :)

I'll add you to my friends list tonight Sethos, so hook me up with a Clan Invite. Hopefully the update is too big and that the download speeds wont be too bad either!

Btw, just picked up the Argos Catalogue today and it says that Socom Confrontation with the Wireless Headset is priced at ?49.99 and will be available on the 19th September. Thats only a week and a bit away..............No way this game is ready for release that soon surely??

The patch broke the game

Every god damn server, you stop every 30th second while EVERYONE else is still moving! You get the "Connection Error" icon, you stand still for 3 seconds and everybody can just shoot at you.

Christ!

    • No. The file manager is a lost cause. After all, its dev receives all the undeserved praise he could evre wish from Neowin, without having actually earned it. This has never lead to improvements.

    • I know I won't ever be using it to make my game. I'd rather pay humans.
    • Nah. For every indie dev that needs to create code for "stuff" or textures, it's a godsend enabler to possibly tackle a project that you may not otherwise. The end result and testing will tell the truth if everything works or doesn't, or a game is just mediocre slop, but now these tools are now there and it's the developer's duty to judge the outcome, and even more so for pro studios. And you gotta remember that they will be at an early stage.
