So the code no longer works or what?

If you mean the R2 tshirt, it was limited to the first 3,000 people to see it and redeem it in the space. Doubt it's still working now.

You can unlock two tshirts from scoring high in the mini-game I believe.

I also tried the one in the video, but didnt work either, I suppose that might have been limited also.

The video was from SCEA, we weren't able to redeem :/

It wasn't limited either just region locked.

If you have a USA PSN account it should redeem though, and quite a lot of Home items can be used across region, you just need to redeem things from an American PSN account.

Whats coming to SCEE Home on the 18th of June

Its time again to have a quick run through of whats coming your way in the next release window, Thursday the 18th.

With the recent introduction of the the European Blog some announcements will be moving from the forums to the blog, and next week is no exception. There will be a new space, and you'll be able to read all about it on the blog next week.

We will also see the arrival of a new apartment. The City Penthouse will be available from Estates in the Shopping Centre and its furniture will be available upstairs from the furniture store.

We're making a small text change to the purchasing legalese for Clubs, in that the date of the 31st March 2009 is changing to 31st December 2009. This should be welcome news to existing and prospective Club owners and what it actually means is we are no longer intending to charge a regular fee for clubs until next year. We listened to the feedback and further features and services will be added to clubs before a regular payment is asked for.

A "Wheres Wally" style event will start on the 18th and will continue for a couple of weeks. Every night from 7-9pm UK time someone will be somewhere in Home. Find them, type a particular phrase and win something very very...... weird.

Details on this in the blog next week as well.

The Presentation Podium has served its purpose and we've noted the feedback about the video and sound. Our goal for events like E3 is live video feeds and whilst this will take some time to achieve we learnt some lessons from this experiement. Hope you enjoyed it.

And finally there is also an update to the EA Sports Complex as well. Whilst the golf game is worked on EA are removing the "coming soon" part of it from the complex and replacing it with two more 4-seater Racing games, giving a total of 16 seats. They are also adding female rewards for Poker, yes, the Bracelets have arrived girls. With a minor change to fix a screen issue upstairs you will need to download both spaces again.

Thats the overall look at the week ahead. Dont forget, the Transformers Treasure Hunt continues as well and you might notice the puzzles getting a little harder.

This afternoon we'll be meeting up with EssexJames and his team for the 3rd SCEE Community Q&A and James will be presenting the results to you soon.

Namco Museum as well

namco-museum-essentials-20090612032329123-000.jpg

June 12, 2009 - Sometimes, the summer can be a boring time for gaming. You're out of that spring period where publishers release a bunch of good games and you're still a ways away from the holiday onslaught. It can be depressing, but Namco Bandai is looking to alleviate some of your stress come July.

Yes, sometime after celebrating our nation's independence, the company plans to release Namco Museum Essentials on the PlayStation Network along with a brand new arcade space for PlayStation Home. The game will pack five classics -- Pac-Man, Galaga, Dig Dug, Dragon Spirit, and Xevious -- along with the brand new Xevious: Resurrection. The Home space will have arcade cabinets packing free trials for each of those along with some nifty additions.

Recently, Namco Bandai swung by the IGN offices so that I could get my hands on all of the shiny new content.

On the Essentials side, it looked like all of the classics are going to play the way you'd expect them. The tall display is placed in the center of the screen with a game-inspired wallpaper behind it so that you have the proper screen dimensions without any of that pesky black in the back. You can unlock more backgrounds so that you can pick what'll be back there, but that's just the tip of the iceberg. Essentials packs stamps, Namco Museum Points, Trophies, and PlayStation Home rewards to unlock as you go. There are more than 50 unlockables.

If you can eat all of the ghosts in Pac-Man in one pellet's timeframe and earn 1,600 points, you'll get a stamp on your player card that unlocks a decorative Pac-Man arcade cabinet for your apartment in Home. Keep going and earning stamps, and you'll unlock a Trophy. Keep earning Trophies, and you'll be pocketing hats, shirts, and more for you Home avatar. Keep playing in general, and you'll earn NM Points so that you can increase your grade in the game.

Each of these arcade games has a "High Score Mode" so that you can put up your best and see where you stack up against the rest of the world, which can easily be tracked from the main menu's stat screens while you scope the Namco news bar. If you want, you can even stop by the sound player and listen to tunes and effects from any of the games in the collection.

Of course, the biggest thing in the compilation is Xevious: Resurrection, a re-imagining of the vertical shooter from 1982. Packing beefed-up visuals and crazier AI, the game played pretty much exactly like the arcade space-shooter you'd expect. I teamed up with a friend (offline-only co-op), and we took to the skies to blast the spaceships in front of us and bomb the tanks below. X fired my red and blue lasers, Square was my shield, and R1 dropped the bombs. You can store three shields and replenish your supply by picking up floating gold triangles.

As we made our way deeper into the game, the enemies went from sissy ships to gigantic fortresses with enough power to erase us from existence. Eventually, these gaggles of ships would show up that were connected by aircraft-destroying lasers and we'd need to pick the planes off one by one to survive the onslaught.

So, yeah, it was what you'd expect for an updated vertical shooter. We'll know more when we get to play it closer to its vague July release.

Also on tap for that sometime-in-July timeframe is the Namco Homespace. Now, as I've already stated, the big thing in this room will be the cabinets packing trial versions of the games from Essentials, but there is more to it than that. For starters, there are a ton of classic Namco posters on the wall for you to walk around and check out, and there are also a handful of machines that'll give you free stuff. You can grab a soda, spin a dial and win some Idolmaster clothes and even sit down in the love seat with another Home participant so that you can see how compatible you two are.

When you're done making love connections or whatever, you can head over to the attached Namco Theatre to check out the latest trailers and scope out a Tekken Statue and a Ridge Racer ride.

Sure, PlayStation Home might not be for everyone, but it is good to see it getting new content that actually links up retail games. All of this goodness is expected to hit sometime in July -- along with Tekken costumes -- so make sure you keep checking your Homespace and IGN for the latest.

Coming to PlayStation Home: New SOCOM Space, Ghostbusters Apartment, EA SPORTS Complex Update + More!

Greetings Home-boys and Home-girls!

To say we have a pretty massive update coming for all of you this Thursday, June 18th would be the understatement of the week. To start, we?ll be unleashing the long-awaited SOCOM Tactical Operations Center space. This space is the first installment of a two-part SOCOM Home hub (the second highly interactive space ? OPFOR ? will follow the TOC shortly) that is the ideal 3D locale for the huge SOCOM community to meet up and socialize. At this new SOCOM strategy post, you will be able to plot the next course of action with your friends by gathering around the Telestrator tool and coordinating your next assault. Chock full of maps and modes from SOCOM: Confrontation, the Telestrator is a powerful tool that the Home community can use to collaborate, strategize, and enhance their gameplay experience. On top of this, the TOC boasts a regional leaderboard that pulls data from the SOCOM site and updates Career stats (such as all-time ranking, kills, deaths, and kills/deaths ratio) in real-time. And in an imminent refresh of the TOC you?ll also be able to purchase a slew of related virtual items to decorate your avatar with. So if you like to sport the Military chic look you?ll have to make a point to stop on by and load up on bandoliers, balaclavas, and other assorted tactical outerwear.

3636046937_c8c948f365_m.jpg 3636863438_404d9541a9_m.jpg

Also coming to the world of PlayStation Home this week is our first foray into movie and game-themed personal spaces. All of you virtual Egons will be overjoyed to find a Ghostbusters Firehouse personal space available for purchase. This 3-floor space comes jam-packed with tons of furniture and assorted decorations at no additional charge (including your very own Ecto-1). We hear that the basement?s ghost containment unit might have accidentally leaked a poltergeist or two, so you?ll have to keep an eye open for supernatural activity. Lucky for you, the Ghostbusters Firehouse comes with full Loot Stage Set functionality (including move props and portable blue screens) so you can stage your own Ghostbusters machinima. And as a token of our infatuation with the Ghostbusters franchise, we?re giving away free t-shirts that commemorate the 25th anniversary of Slimer hitting the silver screen. So be sure to log in and load up on all the goodies while the gettin? is there to be gotten.

Electronic Arts is also freshening up their hugely-popular EA SPORTS Complex with additional Racing tracks, a leaderboards, Racing Boost Shop, and Poker updates (including bracelets for the ladies). The as-of-yet-unopened Golf Pro Shop space will temporarily disappear but will reappear and launch within a short time, so have no worries. All in all, this is a pretty significant update to the Complex, so if you haven?t been over for a while, this Thursday would be a dang fine time to drop on by.

We?re also bringing you some more game-related virtual items (did somebody say Street Fighter IV?!?!), including the free inFAMOUS Cole Costume for all of you that downloaded the demo and played it through to completion. Keep your eye on the official PlayStation Twitter page for more info regarding the awesome updates we have in ?store? for you (terrible pun, I know).

To top this all off we have two events running this weekend in addition to the regularly-scheduled Resistance: SRPA Siege and Saturday Night Street Fightin? game launching events (check the Clubs and Events subforums on the official PlayStation Home messageboard for more details). The first event starts Friday morning and ends Friday night and has something to do with you and your friends going on a scavenger hunt for parts of a secret code scattered throughout Home and the first 100 winners receiving a free download of Bomberman Ultra from the PlayStation Network. The other is scheduled for Saturday night and also involves free stuff, but you?ll have to keep your eyes on the video screens throughout Home between now and then for more details, because my memory is getting a little furry in my old age?

Oh, and by the way, the Killzone 2 Visari?s Throne and the Namco Bandai Museum are indeed coming to SCEA?s version of PlayStation Home. But not this week. You?ll have to keep an eye on the official Blog, forums, and Twitter accounts to stay up to date as to the progress of these spaces. But don?t despair; you can always spend the time between now and then launching into games of Crash Commando with your friends in Home. Don?t believe me? Give it a try?

Here's an update on statisics

home.jpg

Peter Edward, director of Home for SCEE, has broken down figures for the platform by region, demographic and content.

Without further ado, here it is courtesy of Gamasutra:

  • Since launch in November 2008, Home claims to have 7 million users - of which 3 million are in Europe - who have downloaded 6 million items.

  • Average Home session duration is 56 minutes, and while Sony expected 90 percent of its users to be 18-35 year-old males, the average is around 80 percent.

  • During the three months leading up to the Watchmen film releases, 812,544 users watched an exclusive video with director Zack Snyder which amounted to 9.3 million minutes of view time. The Watchmen area of Home generated 3.2 million visits, and the Rorschach and Nite Owl costumes were downloaded 1.6 million times.

  • 450,000 costumes were sold during the two-week Star Trek movie campaign, the video was watched 250,000 times.

  • Red Bull's Air Race game has been played by 873,136 users, which equals 2.5 million visits and 575,000 hours played with an average of 39 minutes spent on the game for the fist 5 months of launch. The game cost ?110,000 to create with an estimated marketing value of ?1.5 million.

  • Users playing the Transformers puzzle games to net a free t-shirt for their avatars reached 125,000 with completion giving users a Trophy for their virtual spaces

More through the link.

I'm sure those numbers sold for clothing (just a few pieces of themed as well, not everything) is bound to cause some people to cry :| :|

450,000 costumes were sold during the two-week Star Trek movie campaign

I dunno how much they were but that's at least over a million in 2 weeks...

PlayStation Home - New inFamous Space and Killzone 2 Throne Room

Hi all, it's Elliott here, and I wanted to update you on some fantastic new content making it's way into PlayStation Home this week. Firstly, the magnificent Killzone 2 Visari Throne Room will be available from the Shopping Centre as of tomorrow morning. To celebrate the launch of this great personal space, we're giving you the chance to get hold of an exclusive Killzone 2 PS Home Reward – the Visari plant & container. This exclusive item will look great in your new Visari Palace Throne Room, (or Harbour Studio at a push…) just bear in mind it takes up quite a lot of space…!

In addition to the Visari Throne Room, this week you will also be able to get your hands on an exclusive Helghast Tacticians outfit (for both male and female avatars), some fantastic Killzone t-shirts, as well as a variety of furniture items to kit out the Visari Throne Room – check out the screenshots below.

And last, (but by no means least!) we will also be launching the fantastic inFamous 'Abandoned Docks of Empire City' space tomorrow morning (including the great Reaper Shock mini-game). Here's what SCEA's blog team had to say about this great new addition:

"The Abandoned Docks of Empire City marks a first for Home in that it will broadcast exclusive media developed by Sucker Punch specifically for the hardcore inFamous fans. We also managed to squeeze a mini-game into the space – a scrolling shooter-type button masher called Reaper Shock that lets the community compete for high scores on the built-in global leaderboard (and rewards the most highly-skilled with some rad reward items to decorate your avatar and your personal space with)."

US Home Updates this week

inFAMOUS Space Comes to PlayStation Home, Far Cry 2 Game Launching Support + Tons More!

3676055635_84f7af45f1.jpg

Welcome back to your all-points BOLO bulletin wherein I give you, the beautiful people of the PlayStation Home community, a head's up on what to keep your eyes open for in our next publishing update. This Thursday, you'll see that we decided to start the 4th of July festivities a few days early – and with a serious bang - by shooting some truly explosive content your way.

Up first is the electrifying inFAMOUS game space: The Abandoned Docks of Empire City. This awesome space supports the next level of UGC (User-Generated Content) on the Home platform with its Graffiti Wall mini-game. Here, you can use our graffiti tools to design your own unique art to display to your friends. There's also a voting feature so that you can give props to the creators of your favorite designs, and a feature that allows you to share your masterworks and check out your friends' latest and greatest creations – be it simple scribbles or extravagant frescos.

3676055469_2a0e48136a_m.jpg 3676055313_8d1644dd9d_m.jpg

The Abandoned Docks of Empire City also marks a first for Home in that it will broadcast exclusive media developed by Sucker Punch, specifically for the hardcore inFAMOUS fans. And to top it all off, we also managed to squeeze an extra mini-game into the space – a scrolling shooter-type button-masher called Reaper Shock that lets the community compete for high scores on the built-in global leaderboard (and rewards the most highly skilled with some rad reward items to decorate your avatar and your personal space with). For a full walk-through on the new space, check out the story on IGN.

In other news: Ubisoft continues to deliver by patching their hit title Far Cry 2 to support game launching in Home. So be sure to visit the Far Cry 2 space to meet up with new people to launch into the multiplayer version of this groundbreaking FPS, and keep your eye on the official PlayStation Home Clubs and Events forums at PlayStation.com for more details about the special Far Cry 2 game-launching events we have planned for later this week.

Those of you that participated in the epic Hamsters vs. Humans battle a few weekends back will be rewarded with your free aviator helmets (for the guys) and fedoras (for the girls) for doing your part in helping keep Home pro-Human…for the time being at least. We'll also be making available some limited Independence Day-themed goods, some basketball and hockey gear for you sports fanatics, free G-Force shirts, and assorted other apparel. So be sure to check out the Mall for updates to our stores come Thursday morning.

On top of all this, we've managed to work out a few pesky bugs that you have reported to us over at the official PlayStation Home Support sub-forum at PlayStation.com. You'll notice that your Ghostbusters Firehouse and Loot Sound Stage personal spaces can now support Picture Frames (and that the latter has been patched for voice chat capabilities). As always, we thank you for your patience while we work to optimize your Home experience and encourage you to continue to report any bugs to us using the aforementioned Support sub-forum.

See you all in Home!

Rest assured that we’ll be taking advantage of this sweet new space by regularly scheduling some truly awesome events. Keep your eyes on the Home Clubs and Events sub-forum over at PlayStation.com for more info.

We’ll keep you updated on this here Blog thingy when the space is ready to launch.

See you in Home!

Videos of the new spaces on the Blog. To be fair I probably will check out Buzz myself, just to see what the questions are like, how dumb Home members are, and because I can't play 1vs100 as I'm on Silver.

Well the EA sports complex is definitely the best thing to have happened to Home, I've spent a bit of time playing poker it's fun. However I like poker in real life :) Not tried the golf yet, think it's working now, the car racing is pretty standard affair.

Apparently in the Fight Night space you place bets on two fighting robots in the boxing ring, and in a later update you'll be able to control them.

Okay the Buzz space is definitely one of the best to come along so far.

You get the initial lobby,

buzzlobby.jpg

Questions room, waiting for Quiz to start (just entered so everyone is in ghost form till they load). 40 people in this room, there's no waiting times either before playing.

buzzqroom1.jpg

Some questions

buzzqroom2.jpg

buzzqroom3.jpg

When the time is up it zooms down to the right coloured square and everyone on it, I didn't take a picture of that. Good sound effects/music also. You can choose the language the questions are in and they're all pulled from MyBuzz.com so 'infinite' amount.

Fun addition, the prizes will just be Home items, but it's at least something other than leaderboards.

Pretty much :p Nah it's actually because you can enter in and out of quiz rooms as they're going on. I entered the Aliens quiz on question 6. As long as you're in the Quiz room it keeps going to a new round though.

At the start of each round you get to choose a topic and it counts the votes
