ienhz
the taskbar still looks off to me. seems like such a waste of space how the program/icon text is just thrown in the middle and truncated. ToneKnee
the taskbar still looks off to me. seems like such a waste of space how the program/icon text is just thrown in the middle and truncated. The reason being for the huge taskbar is because Windows 7 is trying to be 'Touch screen' friendly. You can make it the same size as Vista's taskbar in the settings. Wait, so they got rid of the pop-up thumbnail displays to switch windows? No one said that? ToneKnee
Imageshack was a little fussy as well for me with Firefox, I hard refreshed the links and they worked fine. You can make it the same size as Vista's taskbar in the settings. I know you can change the size and I know why they made it big. I'm just talking about the design elements they chose to implement when it is that big. I don't mind the larger size -- I don't know how to describe it -- but the design just doesn't look elegant with the way text is used and the odd looking translucent borders around no-text/pinned icons on the taskbar. Ambroos
sorry, but I have the vista boot screen when i boot up... because I had to repair my boot with the 6801 dvd. ToneKnee
So repairing with the 6956 dvd doesn't work? There is no .iso version of 6956, they are only VHD's. That's all I'm aware of. Roger H. Veteran Posted December 5, 2008 Veteran Share Posted December 5, 2008 I got the Vista boot screen also when i was repairing (not even the 6801 boot screen which of-course is different). Whenever i try to boot the new one though i still get a BSOD (0x0000007b) which states inacessible boot device. I did the repair but still wont work. :argh: Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/705184-windows-7-build-695x-revealed-at-winhec-2008-china/page/7/#findComment-590231378 Share on other sites

ToneKnee
Anyone tried this? 1. Boot Windows 7 DVD2. Choose Windows Repair 3. start CMD 4. Run Diskpart 5. Create vdisk file=c:\windows7.vhd maximum=100000 6. select vdisk file=c:\windows7.vhd 7. surface vdisk 8. exit Windows Repair (without Reboot) 9. Install Windows 7 to this surfaced VHD 10. Reboots and boots Windows 7 from VHD Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/705184-windows-7-build-695x-revealed-at-winhec-2008-china/page/7/#findComment-590231472 Share on other sites
Roger H. Veteran Posted December 5, 2008 Veteran Share Posted December 5, 2008 Anyone tried this? That you got from a site i was at too. That's easy enough to do as you create the VHD when you are botting, that doesn't really do the booting from one you already have. SoapyHamHocks Member Posted December 6, 2008 Member Share Posted December 6, 2008 If you guys are getting a bluescreen at classpnp.sys try disabling AHCI. I got it working using the following: BCDedit /copy {current} /d new7 BCdedit /set <guid result of previous command> device vhd=[C:]\vhd\new7.vhd Bcdedit /set <guid result of previous command> osdevice vhd=[C:]\vhd\new7.vhd The above was done from within 6801.
