Crysis and Crysis Warhead of course, they were the orignal game company to release Farcry 1 on 64bit machine and your point is? How many other games can you name?

Steam could be a 64bit application however the games inside of it are 32bit.

There is more gamers on 32bit machines then 64bit, 64bit cannot lead yet, not enough made for it. There is still a huge amount of emulation.

You really need to do some research before posting: "On December 22, 2005, Valve released a 64-bit version of the Source game engine that takes advantage of AMD64 processor-based systems running a 64-bit version of Windows. This update, delivered via Steam, enabled Half-Life 2 and other Source-based games to run natively on 64bit processors, bypassing the 32-bit compatibility layer."

No not all of the games are 64-bit, but the way you stated it, all of the games are 32-bit, which isn't true. And even so, the games still run better on 64-bit than they do 32-bit flavors of Windows Vista.

Hmm, I got steam and TF2 do I need to do something to get 64BIT or is already that?

Btw win7 64bit coming at 300KB/s looks like It'll be ready for Ballmer keynote

I do have x64, but this is Neowin forum, no links alloud because it's not public yet, but i'm using 32bit because i have no use for 64bit because i have a gaming rig.

But having both gives me the option in the furture :p

On average, 64-bit windows gets better gaming benchmarks than 32-bit windows.

I didn't say all games, there is not enough 64bit games made, wow a few games can run natively on your OS, that won't change my mind to upgrade.

Show the benchmarks, what kind of tests will they do.

There is alot of theories to 32bit VS 64bit but it depends what you use your system for.

More then 4GB of memory yes i understand that, But anything else not really. And I'm basing this on only using the Machine for multimedia and gaming, and the games which are used are 32bit.

There is alot of applications that dont run on x64 either, even though they say it will emulate, alot don't even install.

Anyway this is a Windows 7 topic, i'm going back on track with this topic.

I believe the newer Source engine-based games are 32-bit only. Besides that, the 64-bit engine was a bit buggy. Making the engine adapt to multicore processors would provide more benefit than a 64-bit engine.

I know this may sound crazy but I'm about to burn the 64Bit version, though I only have a Dual-Layer disc and would be nice if I could maximize its use.

Could I create a folder with a random name inside the .iso image, fill it up with some files without it hurting the actual installation of Windows 7?

I thought gamers would be smarter than that. Running a 32bit game on a 64bit OS does not slow anything down at all.

You're far more likely to notice a better response to games in 64bit because the OS itself is running quicker and making better use of your hardware.

Yeah, it'll be fine.

You can add extras folders without hurting the actual image, Use PowerISO or UltraISO etc.

No matter how much we talk about how better 32bit VS 64bit or how better 64bit VS 32bit is, everyone has there own opinion and this case will never be resolved lol MOVE ON! :)

So now Press, OEM's Et al have Win 7 and the very people chosen by Microsoft to beta test Win 7 - don't have it.

What's worse we have to wait until S. Ballmers marketing Circus to start before we get the software, that's silly.

Since when have egos ever made sense?

TF2 is not one that has been compiled for 64-bit yet. When it is, you won't have to do a thing though. It automatically recognizes what which to run in (32- vs. 64- bit mode).

But my Sega Dreamcast is 128 bit so will it run Windows 7 better?

Half the new posts lately are all in threads starting with "Windows 7".

Madness.

I have three suggestions to you:

1) Think about what "Neo" could mean and then also think about what "Win" might be short for...?

2) Read the "Neowin" article on Wikipedia to find out the above :p

3) Maybe think about what is happening tonight at CES and what is happening this (or next) week in relation to Windows 7.

OK :)

Microsoft Windows 7 Beta 7000.0.081212-1400 Ultimate 64 Bit English Iso was leaked on torrent sites :woot:

No really? How do you think some of us have been downloading it and posting screenshots already. Getting about 500kB/s over here; another 1.5 hrs at this pace. *sigh* Better start backing up in the meantime.

    • I do not remember anything happening to Apple and Google for bribing people not to make Apps for Windows Phone. Edge barley has a foot print to matter. If the other browser companies want more of the Pie, they need to do better. I use Brave on all my personal device. However in industry, Edge of default, as we can manage it easier with MS tools.
    • On the one hand, it shouldn't be difficult. You buy a computer, you decide what OS you want, which browser etc. Simple enough. But that's the techie side of things. My sister, my mother, wouldn't bother with such a thought. And I'm pretty sure that if you presented a window asking them what to pick they would say, "I don't care! I just want to access my Email!"
