On 7022 (leaked) as well?!! Could this be the malicious code injection point?!?? :o

Wow neo, you sure are a ray of sunshine, aren't you?

This is the same guy that leaked 7022 and 7032. Also, 7048 was sent out to some TAP and Connect testers on Sunday, so I would have been shocked if it hadn't leaked by now. I would almost guarantee that this build is fine, and it's definitely real.

I have 7022 x64 installed and WEI works just fine in it. Please stop spreading rumors like this -- DiamondNRG's releases seem just fine.

how do you create an iso out of the files if you dont have the build 7000 iso? I burned the copy i downloaded and deleted it.

Get ImgBurn and select make an image file out of selected files, then select the root folder, and create it.

Hey guys, thanks for the link. However we have an update on the WEI.

Also, build 7048 is simply a "Beta Refresh" released to Microsoft TAP members as we mentioned yesterday... we have access to TAP. So ignore the rumors. We'll have further updates today on build 7048, feel free to contact us via the site if you'd like further information regarding certain aspects of the build using our contact form. We'll respond back as soon as we can.

That's good to know that there's no problems with WEI. Thanks for that update :)

See, this is one thing I hate about bloggers sometimes. They post error messages and BSOD screens even when its their own fault, and then say that there could be something wrong with the release.

Still looking like a solid release. Can't wait to start using the new Aero Peek refresh.

You give me hope. thank you.

How was the error our fault? The error occurred at least 5 times yesterday, even after an update and several reboots. For some reason today it decided to magically work.

Can I ask if there are any performance increase?

@neo7 - Sorry for being rude with you earlier today. :) I just have a problem when people spout out when they don't have the facts. I have been guilty of that myself in the past and I'm trying to remain positive and research things before I post. Peace and happiness.

Back to the topic of this thread. The downloads are going but slow as everyone can see. I would say six hours or so, thousands will be seeding at full steam. ISO's will follow. Patience is a virtue.

Can I ask if there are any performance increase?

Yes, we do see a difference in performance. Unfortunately we didn't have time to run any benchmarks but if you look at the WEI there was a .1 increase in calculation speeds and I'd say that is accurate. Also, other than the WEI error at first we have encountered absolutely no issues or errors with build 7048 (unlike build 7000). We are in the middle of making another post that will go into further details regarding the bells and whistles... but we are loving Build 7048.

    • New PowerToys update fixes memory leaks and other issues by Taras Buria Another bug-fixing update is available for PowerToys version 0.100. After releasing version 0.100.1 with a bunch of bug fixes and patches, Microsoft pushed version 0.100.2 to address two important issues with one of Command Palette Dock's features. With PowerToys 0.100.2, Microsoft fixed the performance meter displaying incorrect values and memory leaks, which are particularly unwanted things in the current situation with overpriced PC hardware. Here is the changelog: Reverted a Performance Monitor dock refresh change that forced item refreshes on every metric update Fixed a memory leak in the Performance Monitor dock extension by reusing stable network upload/download band items instead of creating new list items on each refresh For those unfamiliar, Command Palette Dock is a relatively new addition to PowerToys. It is a taskbar-like tool that you can keep on top of the screen to pin various useful widgets, commands, and more. It can display time, weather, your PC's performance metrics, and more. Microsoft introduced the Command Palette Dock in March 2026 in PowerToys 0.98. Microsoft has dedicated documentation for Command Palette Dock, and you can check it out on the official Microsoft Learn website. You can update PowerToys to the latest version by going to Settings > General and clicking "Check for updates." Alternatively, you can download the installer from GitHub using this link. In other news, Microsoft is working on a new window-management utility for PowerToys. Called Alt Window Cycle, it will let you use the Alt + ` shortcut to switch between different windows in a single app. You can learn more about the tool here.
    • You did take leaf out of Trumps book already and had brexit - only to harm yourself. The same goes with this AI nonsense. The obvious solution for these companies is to move their head office to Brussels. I can see quite much irony there... 🙂
    • Thank gawd AT&T never worked with the US gov....
    • Wonder if they are trying to slow down Linux traction (not saying this is the only factor) in the consumer space. With the most pressure probably being steam deck/box, etc.
