Ad free subscriber group to be implemented

Why the sad face? This package is a great deal for the money, and should be here very soon

It's probably because the majority of subs have 3.98mb upload while he strangely doesn't

Would an upgrade from tier 1 be possible?

Yes, Neowin will post details about the upgrade, found here

+100 to what they said, I also want to sign up.

The upgrade is from Subscriber Tier1 to Subscriber Tier2. You can go ahead and wait for the package to be released and subscribe directly from user to Tier2.

Good idea, fair pricing, win! Much better than any of the "lifetime" sub ideas of the past.

I may upgrade.

Silver/Gold badges is a good idea  But I think Silver text could be a little impractical. Orange/Gold probably best.

I'm still looking for clarification regarding the gallery. Will all image uploads to subscriber galleries have to wait for moderator approval?

There will probably be some freedom but it depends what sort of space and limits they will give because you don't want people hotlinking the crap out of it with gifs and lolcats.

If it's their gallery space, which they're paying for via the subscription fee, what does it matter?

So it is seen as more elite? Even though I'm a subscriber AND am opiong to view the adverts, I'm of a lower tier?

I'd have to agree with you on this one. :/

That made me laugh!

Buttt, most of the members of Neowin are males... how would Steve benefit from people signing up to Neowin Ultimate? :p

Use your imagination. ;)

:(

Yes we do.

$0.01 :shifty:

This isn't the price is right, no $1 bids here bob. :p

Do you plan on uploading images that may be offensive or could possibly break the rules?

As far as I am aware - all gallery items will require moderator approval. Main reason is that any images stored and hosted on our servers leave us liable. They'll also have to follow Neowin's rules. I am not 100% sure about how the gallery features will work, but I am fairly sure that all galleries will be public. Therefore, we wouldn't want someone uploading porn or something offensive or macabre that would be publically viewable.
