Very Offtopic: :p

I never understood why the US uses such an odd way to write down dates.

They use month-day-year. 12th of april is "4/12/09". (Which would be the 4th of december in the rest of the world)

It's so unlogical, it's the same as counting to 3 like this: "2-1-3".

On the other hand, when it's 30 minutes and 20 seconds past noon, it isn't 30:12:20, which it should be according to the date logic.

Thankfully they write their time in a normal way, eg. 12:30:20

Those funny Americans :p

Aaaanyway, I love those new localised pictures, by the way, they are beautiful, if they're from a fake leak or not, the pics are nice :)

I'll be keeping an eye out for the English version, I'm interested if that has a proper digisign.

They write it how they would say it. Today for example Americans would say April 13th where as the rest of the English speaking world (proper English at that) say 13th of April. I totally agree with you. It totally defies all logic.

this is method originaly from viper for russian pack. However instalation is bit complicated yes, specialy since i "fixed" instructions couple of times, because i was rushing to much.

Also about this "homebrewed" windows, seems wierd to use it, ill still wait for "real" english till evening and then decide. if ill actualy use this or not :)

What's the excitement about!! Come on, it's just a few builds away from 7077 (technically speaking), I doubt there's any changes right? If there are, I bet it's no big deal. People need to stop making a mountain out of a molehill and being plain vain. Why waste your time and energy to download 2-3GB again and with the language pack just for a couple bug fixes? Oh well... vanity vanity

That being said... SoLoR.. pls make sure you announce your torrent so I can start downloading :p

Agreed on all three points. Though a bit of clarification, "Hieroglyphs are ideograms (!= alphabet) used by ancient Egyptians". This is 100% true. Though they spoke Arabic primarily and earlier, Aramaic. Which was my point. I just didn't structure my response properly, I suppose.

Nope, they spoke Coptic earlier, and it is still used in Church services to this day (Coptic Christians form about 15% of the population of Egypt): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coptic_language

Responded via PM as there is no need to carry on a discussion on languages in ancient Egypt on this thread.

It's bad enough the other thread became a Jesus debate.

ON TOPIC:

With RC pretty damn close, I've decided to wait it out. 7077 is running quick and smooth for me. Waiting for

the official public RC seems the best thing to do.

    • What I like about Paint is using it almost exclusively for cropping and resizing images I get elsewhere--it's quick, easy and cheap... I keep it glued to my taskbar, in fact.
    • I still remember it fondly today. It was so cool to work in 64-color Half Bright mode and 4.096-color HAM mode (interlaced) when x86 was still in 4-color CGA or 16-color EGA low res. C= never realized what it had until it was far too late--the failure of C= was the failure of its top management. The C= Amiga was 20 years ahead of its time, I always thought. It didn't hurt that in only 512k of chip memory, the Amiga could preemptively multitask when Apple was still doing gray scale graphics on tiny screens and along with everyone else was doing cooperative multitasking (running more than one app at a time in resident memory, but you could only run one of them at a time--had to manually switch between them.) I had a ball with AREXX scripting running between programs that had AREXX ports so that when you sent other applications data and instructions, those running applications could process the same in real time to output! Memories...
    • I'm not sure about that, but it at least "does" a version of 7.1 that this brand new card doesn't....

    • I can barely recall getting web results from a file search... I must've turned it off long ago. 26H2 is Insider's Preview build 26300.8697, which I am running, atm. It is not available for people running the standard commercial builds of Windows--only for the beta test Insider's group. But anyway, as mentioned in the thread, this feature has been around for a long time...
