Well if you do, understand that It feels different from past Halo's (talking from the beta) however still keeps the same core gameplay

Armour Abilities change the game a ton and give so much more strategy as if you play with a team you get the most out of them working

together with seperate AA's =)

It really is quite fun and its got much more gameplay changes than Halo 3 Had

To put it short, its not just a graphical upgrade

But thats just my Point of View =D

Yeah, thanks but I only trust one opinion and that's my own

I'm very hard to please when it comes to games, the gameplay, the feel and the atmosphere needs to be on a fine edge before it gets a stamp

of approval in my book - Very few games has that :p

I was talking about the musical score? I agree that the graphics are epic and beautiful just that the musical score for the trailer didn't fit the pace of the action going on in the trailer.

oh don't get me wrong, I was just adding to your comment not against it.

Halo 1 PC keys unlock a reward in Halo: Reach

'Small visual flair' in Halo Reach on offer for owners of original Halo on PC.

Written by David Scammell, 30 July 2010

Bungie have announced that they'll be rewarding gamers who played the original Halo on PC by outfitting them with some "visual flair" in Halo: Reach.

"The reward is a small "visual flair" as was described during the last days of Halo 2 for players of that game," said Bungie speaking on their official forums, and will be available to players who played Halo: Combat Evolved on either PC or Mac.

Don't expect too much, though. According to Bungie, the reward is "not armor or anything in the Armory".

Xbox users are going to be missing out though on the reward, though. Bungie claim that they "have no way of telling if you've played the Xbox version, so that isn't included here." Damn.

Word of warning though if you haven't played the original Halo on PC yet; don't go rushing out to buy a copy today to get in on the reward. Bungie say that the reward has been designed for "people (that) have been part of a certain Halo community for a while", and it will only be available to users who activated their key before May 26th 2010.

If that's you, look out for more on the reward in the build-up to the game's launch on September 14th.

Some new screens shot!

If the 10 latest Halo: Reach screens out of Bungie aren't enough to persuade you that with their last Halo title they are shooting for a really set of diverse locations, then nothing will.

They look like they were shot on totally different worlds... literally. The 5 campaign screens look something remotely similar to the colour palette of our beloved planet, while the Firefight images from the Outpost map look like they were shot on Mars!

"But Dan, the Firefight mode isn't the campaign? That, and why are you speaking to yourself again?" Well Dan, bad question, good question there. Firstly, all the Firefight maps are taken out the campaign, you should know this. And secondly, none of your damn business!

If you haven't had chance to read today's preview, read it now - we cover everything in there: the campaign, the multiplayer, Forge World and Firefight. If that's not enough, look out for our interview with Bungie sometime over the weekend.

Check out all 10 of the new screens in the gallery here.

Those are some really nice screens indeed. I've always thought of Halo as a multiplayer game (that is, it's where I've spent pretty much all of my time with Halo 3), but for Reach, I'm definitely looking forward to the single player as well. I almost want to go back and play the other Halo games just to get caught up on the series in anticipation for this.

One of the things that developers have really overlooked in recent years is truly punishing those who quit out of online multiplayer games and ruin the online experience for everyone else involved.

Speaking to X360A this week, Bungie?s Community Director, Brian Jarrard, while talking about what they?ve done in Halo: Reach to deal with those that constantly break the rules, mentioned that the quitters might be in for a bit of a shock this September.

?I think one of the new things people will be excited about too, is how we?re going to be able to penalise people who are habitually quitting out of games, which isn?t exactly cheating, but it creates a really negative experience for everybody else in the game,? explained Jarrard.

?We actually have new tools now to detect that and eventually, people who do this habitually will actually be penalised,? he continued, ?We want to be able to remove them from the population so they can?t make everyone else keep having a bad time.?

The words of Jarrard will be welcomed by all ? except those that habitually quit, d'uh ? as they?ve been a plague on the online community for quite some time.

Don?t say you haven?t been warned.

In the interview with Jarrard and Campaign Designer, Niles Sanky, that?s due to be published sometime over the weekend, Jarrard talks about some of the other improvements that have gone on behind the scenes to improve the online experience as a whole. So keep an eye open for that.

Anyone else think this is a brilliant idea!?

I don't get why people are so obsessed with who quit, who didn't quit and all that crap. Why can't this be like every game in the history of PC gaming (hyperbole, before I get a ton of trolls for that remark) where you can join a game in progress, quit a game in progress, etc? I get that people like matchmaking, but I'd rather have drop-in/-out multiplayer any day of the week. And why not have both?

Yeah it would be nice to have both like in gears

This is the #1 thing that keeps me from playing Halo (and most modern games for that matter) online. I want to just launch the game, join one of my favorite servers and just play from then until the end of my available time for gaming. I don't have time for this crap where you can only pick from a list of predefined map/gametype combos that all include stuff I don't want to play, wait minutes between each match, have at least 20% of those matches ruined by people quitting or team-killing or booting me because I threw a grenade into a room full of enemies and for some reason they thought it was a good idea to chase in there after it. I guess the one good thing is that Bungie hasn't extended their matchmaking to the point where certain maps/gametypes/weapons are restricted by level and the only way to get the $60 worth of game you already paid for is to play it for a million hours.

    • The fact that memory in general is so high I have to take a loan out to build a computer now is just beyond stupid. Who's really to blame here? Low supply or high demand?
    • Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) 18.1.5.5 by Razvan Serea Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) is a utility for completely removing AMD/NVIDIA/INTEL graphics drivers and related packages from your system, attempting to eliminate all leftovers (including registry entries, folders and files, driver store). Though AMD/NVIDIA/INTEL drivers can usually be removed via the Windows Control Panel, this uninstaller tool was created for situations where standard uninstall fails, or when you need to fully remove NVIDIA or ATI graphics card drivers. After using this driver cleaner, your system will behave as though it’s the first time you’re installing a new driver—similar to a fresh Windows installation. As with all such tools, we recommend creating a restore point beforehand, allowing you to undo changes if issues arise. If you're having trouble installing an older or newer driver, try it—there are reports that it resolves such problems. Recommended usage: The tool can be used in Normal mode but for absolute stability when using DDU, Safemode is always the best. Make a backup or a system restore (but it should normally be pretty safe). It is best to exclude the DDU folder completely from any security software to avoid issues. You do NOT need to uninstall the driver prior using DDU. Requirements: .NET Framework 4.8 Compatible with Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10, and 11 (32-bit or 64-bit) Note: Using on Insider Preview builds is at your own risk. WACUP 1.99.51.24568 Preview changelog: Fixed a deadlock seen from the recent crash reports when doing some of the drag + drop actions within the media library window Fixed a loading crash seen related to a problem with some of the artwork cache image files being restored which should now be better handled allowing for the bad image to be removed without it failing Fixed a deadlock seen from the recent crash reports when the internal metadata cache clearing is triggered which could block the main ui thread for too long with this now being moved to a background thread Fixed some performance issues with some of the methods related to determining artwork support which mainly affected the local library import / refresh (this is still slower for some compared to other players because there's more data & artwork aspects being checked for which means doing more processing on a single file despite the best of attempts to reduce duplicate / heavy processing where possible) Fixed a crash with the JTFE based missing files hotkey which no one seems to have used for an age for this to appear (maybe it's time to seriously consider stripping out features that aren't being used) Fixed how some of the file types which use extra information to reference their sub-songs is handled which was preventing some from being correctly resolved back to their base file (noticed fixing above) Fixed an issue with the handling of files with underscores in their filepath which wasn't being correctly handled causing some of the filename to be lost when shown as the title if title reading is delayed Fixed a few things that might be behind NotSoDirect not being stable for some setups though am still not certain that the changes done for this are going to fully resolve the problem from the crash reports Fixed the OS toast handling when there's no prior shortcut in the OS start menu to now create the shortcut (needed to allow the yes/no buttons for the new build / post-release toast) to be done as a hidden one so it's less likely to cause annoyance for those not wanting to see it whilst still allowing this less than ideal OS api implementation requirement to be met to avoid toasts without the needed buttons Fixed a regression when moving from taglib1 to taglib2 which broke some of the handling in place to allow for external programs to still access files when wacup has a held open cached instance of the file Everything else Updated cppwinrt (gen_win10shell.dll) to 3.0.260520.1 (26 May 2026) Updated libcurl (libcurl.dll) to 8.2.1 (24 Jun 2026) Updated Monkey's Audio (in_ape.dll) to 13.15 (28 Jun 2026) Updated mpg123 (mpg123.dll) to 1.33.6 (6 Jun 2026) Updated OpenSSL (libcurl.dll) to 3.5.7 (9 Jun 2026) Updated pugixml to 1.16 (16 Jun 2026) Updated taglib (tag2.dll) to 2.3.0 (11 May 2026) Updated vgmstream (in_vgmstream.dll) to the latest Git commit from 28 Jun 2026 Download: WACUP 64-bit | 9.6 MB (Freeware) Download: WACUP 32-bit View: WACUP Website | Screenshots Get alerted to all of our Software updates on Twitter at @NeowinSoftware
