Halo Reach Thread

I know there were damage increases and infinite ammunition settings but bottomless clips mean the clip never ends (no reloading, essentially) while instant kill is regardless of weapon or health (the only instant kills in Halo 3 are SWAT headshots). I'm pretty sure neither of those were in Halo 3.

Oooo, didn't know that about the clips but instant kills are still there. It's right under the damage options.

This video gives a great look at some of the helmets and character models inc robotic arms etc.

Nice Find .(Y) Wonder how many of the models will make it into the final game.

Not the first time that rooster teeth used special effects in their videos though...

Also, how do you explain the fact that the holograph could be controlled :p

Important things first: Why is there a Halo on that map?

He stopped when the holograph was emitted.

If it is real then I have to say, coupled with all the other awesome little additions and tweaks Bungie have made to Halo, they've another game changer on their hands.

Combat Evolved, not just reskinned.

I guess it's good for fans, but I always hated the original Blood Gulch. I'm glad to hear it's bigger... maybe it'll make it more appealing to me. (Yes, I know I'm probably the only person in the thread with that opinion.)

I guess it depends. I have fond memories of playing mostly 4v4 CTF on the original Blood Gulch. It's a good sized map if you are playing with friends. In contrast when you start playing with mostly strangers on XBL, similarly sized maps don't work that great because team coordination is very rare. (N)

The size of the map was never really my problem, it was just so bland in terms of the layout (IMO). I'm hoping it's more spruced up than the trailer made it look.

Just take a look at all the 2fort maps there have been on PC games. Originally, they were crap, but in Team Fortress 2, Valve found a way to update it with a slightly more advanced layout to make it more fun.

Because it's a remake. ;)

Bungie has previously said that all MP maps are from campaign. They didn't know about Halo when Reach fell (IIRC).

aah ok.

That new ability looks really sweet (assuming it's real, and I have no reason to doubt that it's real). It's going to be tough choosing between this, the armour lock, or the sprint. This will be great for maps with lots of snipers and Spartan lasers though.

My Halo obsession actually started with Halo 3, so I don't have the same attachment to Blood Gulch that my friends do, but they say it's awesome, so I'll have to take their word for it :).

I want this game now... I can't wait for the fall.

    • I'm still rocking iOS 25.x on my primary phone cuz iOS 26 still has usability quirks (mostly aesthetic and thus its UX) which I don't wanna deal with -- and I've been piloting them with all of these updates on my backup phone, so I'm well aware of its "improvements" since iOS 26 was first released (compared to version 26.5.x).
