I can see why people would get upset about so much paid DLC on day 1. $1.99 for your robot to do a facepalm, thumbs up or other guesters. I can understand if it was some ingame credit you get for doing things to get people to replay the game. I guess this is just a small way to keep giving us free support for other games ( updates, new maps, etc...). Nothing is free.

That screenshot is serious? If so, WOW, that is pretty bad.

And I was just reading on Kotaku about the DLC. Also pretty bad I must say. I realize all of it is cosmetic and does not affect gameplay, but I just thought Valve of all people would stray away from such gimmicks.

I am sure I am still going to love the game, I loved the first Portal and even if it is an exact replica of it with just new levels and ways of doing things, well then I am sold, but it is a tad disappointing to see some of the thing that have been revealed on release day, mainly the console-centric focus and console-centric approach to the DLC. Oh well.

Looks like a lot of that is to do with people complaining about the DLC extras for the game as well as a complete misunderstanding of the Potato sack games or what the potatos was all about

That why I was confused I knew they didn't had any DLC and where the f*** these idiots got this $85 DLC out of the air. I'm still debating should I get it for console or pc (the price tend to get lower for pc after a while)

Playing through it now - it makes me unbearably motion sick, the first one did too to an extent but no where near this levels :x

I had this problem with HL2 when it first came out. I tried the game again last fall and had the same problem, only made it about an hour into the game and couldn't take it.

I see someone is running it on a MacBook, I might give it a try on my MBP. Not going the 360 route.

I can't believe there is already pay for DLC.... Valve is normally not the one to charge for such a little thing like that.... I wonder who is making them do this?

it's not a conspiracy, it's just hats which have no bearing on gameplay, and tf2 already has hats you pay for, this isn't anything new. I don't get how people think this is a big deal.

Helps pay for the 'free' updates and maps we get for this game and others but I do feel some of it is a bit redicilous but it has no affect on gameplay.

I just got the game in the mail and im having secound thoughts based on real reviews (not trolling ones). I hope their is a map creator tool soon. Community maps for SP and MP would just make things a lot better for PC and console side. They can throw in a map browsing interface like little big planet so people wont have to download and extract to a folder like on the PC side.

edit: OK i did a search and their will be user created maps for alll versions (should really do that before making a post). Thats good I feel better because people will create twitch reflexes maps we all love from portal 1. Im going to get killed on the PS3 side until I upgrade my PC :p. Game on.

    • Happens to the best of us, bro. 😛
    • Thanks to some of the other recent Windows improvements, I'm optimistic about this one. My quick wishlist would be: perf like the older menu, merge both menus or at the very least, the older menu should be a flyout, not a simulated click to the old menu, and lastly, a customization window to let users move items from one menu to another, so I could bring Send To back to the main menu, and the OneDrive settings to the older.
    • This Gigabyte AMD RX 9070 XT is very good deal despite the launch of 9070 GRE by Sayan Sen Recently we reviewed AMD's latest 1440p gaming card, the Radeon RX 9070 GRE 12GB, for $549. The card is in stock too at that price, though if you want significantly better performance and don't mind spending a bit more, the Gigabyte Gaming model of RX 9070 XT is currently on sale for just $650 (purchase link under the specs table down below). The card employs Gigabyte's WINDFORCE cooling system which combines multiple design elements such as alternate-spinning Hawk fans, a vapor chamber, and composite heat pipes to manage heat dissipation. The Server-grade Thermal conductive gel further helps in this department. The inclusion of a semi-passive cooling mode allows the fans to remain inactive under low workloads, which allows for reduced noise operation during lighter usage. There is dual BIOS switch that allows toggling between performance and silent modes. The technical specifications of the Gigabyte Radeon RX 9070 XT GAMING OC 16G are given in the table below: Specification Value Core Clock Boost Clock: up to 3060 MHz Game Clock: up to 2520 MHz Stream Processors 4096 Memory Clock 20 Gbps Memory Size 16GB Memory Type GDDR6 Memory Bus 256-bit Card Bus Interface PCI Express 5.0 Maximum Resolution 7680 × 4320 Multi-View Support 4 displays Card Dimensions L=288 mm, W=132 mm, H=56 mm Recommended Power Supply 750W Power Connectors 3 × 8-pin Video Outputs 2 × DisplayPort 2.1a 2 × HDMI 2.1b Get it at the link below: GIGABYTE Radeon RX 9070 XT Gaming OC 16GB Graphics Card, GV-R9070XTGAMING OC: $649.99 (Sold and Shipped by Amazon US) (Was: $740) This Amazon deal is US-specific and not available in other regions unless specified. • Why does this kind of tactic not surprise me?
    • They used AI based TOOLS to convert the JavaScript engine (the main rendering engine is still C++) and it was not fully automated but was human reviewed. Other subsystems will be looked into to also be converted to Rust in the future. I have no problem with any of that.
