Playing it on PS3, linked my Steam account seamlessly, so immediately started downloading the PC version. Was not only shocked that it went so smooth, but that I also was getting 3.8 MB a second on Steam. (Y)

So really just super early on, and since the Knicks are in the playoffs for the first time since 2004 and they play tonight, that is all I will get to check it out, so have to wait until tomorrow after work to really sink my teeth into it.

Just played the first three chapters of Co-op mode, and I've got to admit that co-op is one of the most fun things I've done with a second person (except for a few other things I can think of ;)). Me and a friend got on mics and spent a good 2 hours working through the puzzles, and it's so unbelievably gratifying when you finish each puzzle, especially the harder ones.

Don't forget when you're playing co-op

to kill your team mate at least a few times. It's the most hilarious thing I've done in a game in years. I got crushed in a door, so I jumped off a button while my friend was walking over a pit. As revenge he decided to slice me up with a laser while I had my back turn, I'm still plotting my revenge :shifty:

.

I'm hoping that there will be some epic community/DLC test chambers.

I'm outta loop so pls can anyone confirm this that getting PS3 version will get you PC version for free?. If so then getting PS3 version def.

it does , you will have to use the code supplied in the ps3 version to register it to your steam account which will unlock portal 2 on pc/mac.

"So how are you holding up? BECAUSE I'M A POTATO! *Slow clap*"

Had me laughing, best bit in the game :p

Fun game, managed to do it in about 5/6 hours. I'm not hugely upset by that as I knew that going in. The voice acting is superb, probably some of the best I've heard in a game for a long time, it's amazing how "real" Wheatley comes across as.

Finished the singleplayer just before, loved it. Totally worth the wait. Really looking forward to playing through it again, at least once with the developer commentary on, too. For those interested, Steam says I've played it for 5.7 hours. Did expect it to take a bit longer, I wasn't rushing through by any means. Doesn't really matter, had a lot of fun throughout. :)

Just waiting for a mate to finish the SP so we can get started on the co-op now!

Have it loaded on my PS3, PC, and Mac. My plan of attack is more or less play the SP on the PS3, then play CoOp on PC and/or Mac. So if anyone has the PC or Mac version, and is willing to play the CoOp, let me know and I should be able to play it within the next few days. I am probably going to attempt to beat the SP first as I always do, so may not be ready for CoOp until I do that, but this is a game I can probably do both modes simultaneously, so I am open to that idea.

im down and i have the exact same plan as you. definitely want to play it with someone who hasn't touched co op yet.

I can't believe there is already pay for DLC.... Valve is normally not the one to charge for such a little thing like that.... I wonder who is making them do this?

It's annoying, since Valve has recently started using the term DLC for map packs and such, but when everybody else is talking about it, they're referring to the inbuilt store.

The store (at the moment) is fairly useless IMO, since the main reason to use it (gestures) you get anyway for completing co-op (like you get the beanie for finishing SP). All that's left are some flags, some skins and some moustaches.

i don't understand why people are ****ed about DLC. you don't have to buy it and valve is just trying to make money from people who find enjoyment for some dumb reason about virtual goods... good on them for taking advantage of people's willingness to spend real money on fake things and their need to be different in an online virtual video game that has absolutely no bearing to them as an actual human being.

I totally agree with negative metacritic reviews. Valve became way too greedy and a "fast food" of PC gaming, "fast gaming" if you want to call it. 5 hours of gameplay for 50 euro? Potato Sack scam? They can burn in hell, I uninstalled steam weeks ago and I owned 16 games in there - I'd rather abandon these games than play them from hated Valve's service. I guess Blizzard is still OK, no DLC garbage but sticking to old good expansions, no 3rd party program required to run, non intrusive DRM and actually working offline mode in Starcraft 2, and virtual goods for WoW are fine since it is a MMO - not a FPS or puzzle game.

Yeah but them a lot of reviewers are just gushing over this game let will knock off points for others game with similar campaigns yet at least those games can produce hours and hours of mutilplayer. I won't uninstall steam and I got amnesia thanks to the potato sack but overall I'm disappointed with the people who treat this game like the second coming and for valve for half assing it.

Half-assing it? Apparently we played two drastically different games, because there was nothing half-assed about this game, regardless of whether or not you liked it. The graphical updates to Source are aplenty, the new co-op seems amazing (that's an opinion, but the fact that it's there is an improvement), the singleplayer is far longer than "5 hours of gameplay" (unless you're on a second playthrough), there were numerous gameplay innovations in the puzzle formulas, the writing and dialogue easily surpassed the original (no easy feat), etc.

I can understand and respect the views that are upset over the DLC cost, but besides that I legitimately see very little to complain about if you're a fan of Portal. If you disliked the original, however, it's not going to sway you. There's nothing wrong with not liking the game. But can you please clarify what was half-assed?

See the problem is Valve half assing looks like most other studios full effort. This is the company that gave us Half Life 2 and for $50(or $60 on consoles) we should get way more content. Across the board reviews and other sites put the full game at 15 hours of content. That is not $50 to me and imo half assing it from a studio like Valve. Making the writing and dialogue better is not worth selling it as a full priced game. I might get it at the Christmas sale but my money will most likely be spent on real games that give me hours of content for the price like ME3, Skyrim and BF3(mulitplayer hours I know the campaign will be short). Those games deliver on $60 portal 2 to me personally does not.

Good game so far (PS3 wise). Im sorry but i might sell the ps3 version when I finish the game or upgrade my PC and use the voucher. I thought of putting the PC voucher on ebay since i see some up there for $25 but I think Ill have more fun PC wise.

Single player was so good, I cant wait to play co op, the game has left me with no doubts, and it was worth the wait. Story wise, development was interesting as the plot thick ed and left me wanting for more! 6 hours to complete, but best hours of this week :D

How about THIS Easter egg?

Super 8 and Portal 2 FTW.

Beat the game. Amazing.

Just saw it after playing up to chapter 4 on PS3, by then the pc version was done downloading. I don't think I would be able to finish this game for another week or two (GLaDOS I mean my wife's coming back home tomorrow).

    • This is needed! Good to see them working on it. My solution up until now at work is to hide all MY folders, showing only the shortcuts, but linking my personal folders to the corresponding Libraries. Having this exposed in the Navigation pane of File Explorer means that I have easy nested access to my stuff, as well as all the shortcuts under the OneDrive folder when needed, often open as I only have about 10 or so linked sources.
