$20 for nearly a dozen hours worth of new content?

I think it is worth it. Bethesda know how to do DLC.

I didn't mean the length of it, I just meant the content. I have no interest in werewolves or vampires. When my character got turned into a werewolf the first thing I did was look on the internet to see if there was a way to cure it.

There is the other storyline where you don't become a vampire.

The vampire questline doesn't interest me either. Mainly because vampires haven't been cool since Twilight.

Whatever the case, I haven't played this game for a while anyways so I'm in no rush. And I'm sure they will offer a Game of the Year edition eventually that will have all the dlc for like $40 or less.

Woah woah woah. I just went and looked for details on the PS3 Dawnguard, and the first link says that the release date will be September 30th, for a price of $60!

That can't be right, given the prices for the expansion everywhere else. Can someone verify or correct this for me?

EDIT: If it's possible to check this before the end of the work day that would be great. It'll be the difference between lugging my PS3 with me over the weekend or leaving it at home.

Not true. The reason it hasn't released yet is due to performance.

I guess when it is released it'll be the same price it is on Steam.

when i do end up getting Dawnguard i will not be playing the vampire quest line at all. I will do the dawnguard side of it.

I am running 2 chars right now. One is a heel(villian), the other is a hero. I will be doing both sides. Just depending on which one I am running at the time. Dawnguard is installing now.

Wow. So basically the Dawnguard quest line is the exact same as the vampire quest line with subtle differences. Masters of the re-hash/re-use. I might finish playing it on my nord barbarian in a few weeks. Going through the exact same story line again after just completing doesn't interest me. I was excited to see new dungeons by playing on the other side. Oh well, bring on the vampire side missions instead.

I wasn't keeping track but I'd say probably around 10-12 hours of gameplay on the main story line.

I still think its worthwhile DLC. Vampire form is really fun and the new follower is pretty bad ass if you can take her emo attitude ;).

Wow the PC version has me more excited playing it then I did the PS3 version lol. Does anyone have any mods they can recommend that worth using?

A few pages back I posted a bunch of mods that I would recommend. I haven't played in a while though, so there may be better alternatives to some of them.

Is it just me, or does this game force you into hording? I have SO much stuff in my house that I will never do anything with. I would love to sell it all, but it is just too much work and with merchants not having much gold anyway it seems like a waste of time. Also, once you buy a house and fill it with all the furnishings there isn't much else to buy in the game. I'm trying to pull back my need to pick up everything I see, and definitely stop picking every damn herb I come across because I just have WAY too much as it is.

This game really needs a money sink. Even if it were equipment repairs or something like that. The game economy is pretty uninteresting.

After trying out quite a few different mods, I have the following advice:

* If the mod changes the game radically, try the mod out before committing to it. Realize that once you have a few saved games with a mod that changes the skill trees, adds/modifies items, changes quests, and/or adds/modifies creatures (and probably other things that I haven't mentioned) that there may be no going back. My Nord Barbarian character is currently playing on a heavily modded game, and the Dawnguard update introduced too many bugs to be playable. I'm now waiting for the mods to be updated for compatibility, and even then I may have just a corrupt saved game file. I'm experiencing bizarre bugs, like every time I open a door I get a point in Lockpicking........ not what I want.

* Use Nexus Mod Manager. You can install/uninstall manually, but if you are using different mods for different saved games then a mod manager helps you change the installed mods much more easily.

* Consider only modding stuff that you need to because of an annoyance in the game. Different people have different annoyances, so I wouldn't recommend installing everything that someone else has installed just because.

* Probably the only *must have* mod I've come across is SkyUI. I've gotten to the point where I don't like to the play the game without it because inventory management is a head ache with all the crap you accrue anyway.

It is definitely not just you... I am also a hoarder. My first house is full of weapons, books, scrolls, staves, herbs, misc stuff, etc., etc.. I don't think I will ever do anything with most of those things. I collect stuff not only because of money but because I am always thinking that that one is the special pot/pelt/weapon/etc that I will need to save the world.

The economy as you mention is pretty bad. Selling things is absolutelly annoying because the amount of gold the merchants have is a joke. At fisrt I was worried about getting money but now I have over 300000 (without cheating) and I don't know what to do with that since I already own most of the houses and have them fully furnished.

After completing the quest of the Stones of Barenziah getting money is even easier because the amount of precious stones you find is ridiculous. Although completing this quest is not easy by any means since the stones are scattered all over Skyrim.

I don't often promote cheating even in single-player games, but I after how much I've played, I find these "cheats" essential when replaying. Just type them into the console if you're playing on PC.

Vendors will buy stolen goods (because their psychic knowledge of what's stolen is silly...)

Vendors buy all goods (e.g. blacksmith will buy clothes)

The second one is great mostly because it sucks being loaded with items, waiting 'til day before you can actually sell, then having to find the right people to sell it to and hoping they even have enough gold to buy all the crap off of you. Yes, I get that you're supposed to manage your inventory better, but when you sit there managing it more than playing the game, only to kill a dragon and have to pick up them heavy bones... Yeah, definitely not the most fun on your 4th time through the game like me. :p

Hope that helps.
