Android 7.0 Nougat is now available for the HTC 10 on Verizon

Seven months after Google released Android 7.0, and four months after HTC released the update for its 10 flagship, Verizon is finally upgrading that device, including the latest security patches.

Over seven months have passed since Google originally released Android 7.0 Nougat, and it's been four months since HTC began rolling out the update to its 10 flagship. Now, the long wait for the update's arrival has ended for owners of the device on Verizon.

After plans for its imminent release were announced earlier this week, Verizon has now commenced its Nougat rollout for the HTC 10. The update will bump up the build number on the device to 2.41.605.12.

Along with all the benefits of Android 7.0, Verizon said that its update also includes unspecified bug fixes, and "the latest Android security updates" - presumably the March security patches that Google released a few weeks ago.

Don't forget that rollouts like this one tend to proceed in 'waves', so the update may not be available for all HTC 10 handsets just yet. If you don't see the update immediately, give it a while longer before descending into panic.
