Apple's program for managing IT for small businesses is now out of beta

Managing Apple devices for large organizations is not hard, but for small businesses, it can be a nightmare. Fortunately, Apple had introduced a new program "Apple Business Essentials" in beta last year. The program was designed to help small businesses manage Apple devices in a better way. The program is now out of beta and is available for small businesses in the US.

Apple's Vice President of Enterprise and Education marketing, Susan Prescott, says that Apple has a deep and decades-long commitment to helping small businesses thrive.

"From dedicated business teams in our stores to the App Store Small Business Program, our goal is to help each company grow, compete, and succeed. We look forward to bringing Apple Business Essentials to even more small businesses to simplify device management, storage, support, and repairs. Using this new service leads to invaluable time savings for customers — including those without dedicated IT staff — that they can invest back into their business.”

For starters, the program allows small businesses to easily enroll new devices and configure, deploy, and manage them from anywhere in the world. The service also comes with Collections feature that allows IT personnel to configure apps or settings for devices, groups, or individual users.

Using Apple Business Essentials, IT managers can implement critical security settings like Activation Lock to protect stolen or lost devices, and FileVault for full-disk encryption on Mac. The User Enrollment feature develops cryptographic separation for work data to make certain that company data remains secure and employee data remains private when employees utilize a personal device at work. Apple Business Essentials also features a dedicated iCloud account for work that enables collaboration on files and documents, backup, and secure storage.
