As the sun sets on the Note7, rumors emerge for Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S8

Samsung's S7 edge

It was only a matter of time before we started hearing about Samsung's next handset, the Galaxy S8. Although it will be several months before the official release, it looks like Samsung could be following trend with its next camera offering.

According to the Korean Herald, Samsung might offer a dual lens setup in its upcoming flagship slated for February. While details have not been revealed on how the dual lens setup might be utilized, Samsung could offer something similar to Apple's or could possibly go the LG route. The S8 will also offer an iris scanner similar to what was found in the now discontinued Galaxy Note7.

There will be a lot riding on the release of Samsung's Galaxy S-line next year and it will be interesting to see how Samsung handles the launch of its next handset. While there is nothing confirmed, like previous years, Samsung is expected to announced their latest Galaxy S device in February at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
