Death Stranding is coming to PC in June with some Half-Life content

Hideo Kojima's latest project, Death Stranding, landed on the PlayStation 4 in November last year, but just before its release, Kojima Productions announced that a PC version is in development. Today, the developer and the PC version's publisher 505 Games confirmed that the new edition would release on June 2, 2020.

The PC version will arrive with some additional features for an enhanced experience over the PlayStation 4 edition as well, including a photo mode, support for high frame rates as well as ultra-wide monitors. But most surprising of all, the game will feature some extra content from the Half-Life universe. The above trailer shows some iconic Half-Life items players can equip in Death Stranding, including a Headcrab as a hat.

The studio also went on to thank the PC community for the warm response to the original announcement:

"Let us take this opportunity to thank this incredible community for their support since we announced the PC edition of DEATH STRANDING last year. The response has been overwhelming and we’re super grateful for the support you’ve shown us across our social channels."

As previously revealed, Death Stranding will be available through the Epic Games Store and Steam simultaneously on June 2, with a separate physical release also happening. Pre-ordering the game will net fans with some in-game cosmetic extras and wallpapers.
