EA's BattleForge now available via Play4Free

EA's latest RTS BattleForge is now available for free (sort of). The game will be using the Play4Free model. Other games that are currently using this model include Battlefield Heroes, which is still in the Beta stage.

Originally released in March of 2009, Battleforge is a card based real time strategy developed by EA Phenomic studios. While the game itself has about 200 cards available, the Play4Free version only offers two card decks that include 32 cards each. Also, you can only offer a card in the Auction House once you have reached level 4 in PVE or level 10 in PvP. Other then that, everything in the game is available to play.

There is no official reason given why this game went the Play4Free model, but one can only presume sales were not great. If you are a fan of any sort of real time strategy games and love free stuff, this is definitely worth checking out.
