Evo 2017 is underway and this is where you can watch all the action

Today, the Evolution Championship Series 2017 (Evo 2017) starts its first day, with fighters from all over the world gathering in Las Vegas, Nevada. Although the battles will be fierce, with thousands of competitors attending, there will only be a select few who will be able to rise to the top in each game category.

Those that have cable service might be surprised to know that you will be able to watch this year's tournament through Disney's recently launched D|XP channel, that caters to the gaming and eSports crowd. If you do not have TV service, fret not, as you will still be able to catch the show via Twitch and its array of streaming channels that are dedicated to the tournament.

Like every year, the games that are featured in the competition are carefully selected, with a good mix of popular titles, mixed in with some new and more potentially obscure fighting games. Most will recognize standouts like Street Fighter V, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Tekken 7, and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, but the tournament also has some outliers like BlazBlue: Central Fiction and GUILTY GEAR Xrd REV 2. Along with the heavy hitters above, Injustice 2 will be making its Evo debut this year.

As you can see from the massive schedule above, the tournament will be spanning most of the day and part of the night, with there being nine separate Twitch channels dedicated to the event - links to the broadcasts are available below.

Naturally, you might not want to watch every single hour of programming, so if you want to just watch the top players from each gaming segment battle it out, you might want to return on July 16 to tune in and watch the finals that will start at 7:45am Pacific Time.
