Final Fantasy VII finally available for pre-purchase

Final Fantasy VII's PC re-release is available for pre-purchase officially, after an error last week made the game available before intended. It costs $11.99, with a $2 discount for the next month.

After accidentally being put up for sale early last week, the PC re-release of Final Fantasy VII is now officially available for pre-purchase, with a $2 discount off the full price until the game's release on September 12.

The game costs $9.99 at the Square Enix store for the next 30 days, after which it should return to its $11.99 regular price. For now, this seems to be the only place to buy a copy of the digital-only release, as there has been no announcement of a release on other digital platforms, such as Steam.

This "official" pre-purchase follows a snafu last week where the game was erroneously put up for sale early, then quickly pulled. Those who were fast enough to buy the game in that short window were given refunds and will receive a free copy of the game.

The European price for the game is €9.99 during the pre-purchase period, with a regular price of €12.99.
