Microsoft adds software boot camps as prizes for Imagine Cup 2014

Microsoft has already announced that one of the World Finalist teams in its 2014 Imagine Cup student competition will get to meet co-founder Bill Gates. Now there's word that the company will give the winners in three of its categories some extra prizes in the form of software boot camps and experiences.

The Imagine Cup blog states that the winning team in the Innovation category will be awarded with a four week trip to London, Berlin or Tel Aviv to work in the Microsoft Ventures accelerator program. This will help the winning team further develop their technology product idea and possibly launch it to market.

The winning team in the World Citizenship Category will get a one week trip to Microsoft's headquarters in Redmond, Washington. This will allow the team to get guidance and support from Microsoft employees so they can continue to develop their social good-themed project.

Finally, the team that wins the Games Category will win a trip to Seattle to participate in PAX Prime, the four day games convention that's held during Labor Day weekend; the team will be able to demo their game to its tens of thousands of attendees. The team will also attend the two day PAX Dev conference, where they will be able to learn about professional game development from some of the top devs in the business.
