Microsoft announces two weeks of Xbox Live Arcade game sales

If you own an Xbox 360 console and want to save some money on a bunch of Xbox Live Arcade games, then the next couple of weeks might be a great opportunity for you. Microsoft has just announced it will be cutting the prices on a ton of XBLA titles, with one batch on sale this week and another group getting price cuts starting next week.

The company recently completed a pretty major Xbox Live Spring Sale on April 1st, so the fact that they are offering price cuts on a new group of games so soon after that sale was completed might mean Microsoft is aiming to get as much money as they can from the current generation Xbox 360 console before the next Xbox is launched, perhaps sometime in late 2013.

Microsoft's Larry Hryb, director of programming for Xbox Live, posted the list of games on sale on the Major Nelson website today. From now until April 15th, the following XBLA games will get price cuts:

Prince of Persia Classic - 400 Microsoft points (50% off)
Counter-Strike Global Offensive - 600 Microsoft points (50% off)
Real Steel - 320 Microsoft points (60% off)
Battlefield 1943 - 600 Microsoft points (50% off)

Marvel vs. Capcom Origins - 600 Microsoft points (50% off)
Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection -400 Microsoft points (50% off)

From April 16th to April 22nd, Microsoft will cut the prices of the following XBLA games:
