Microsoft releases Azure Manifesto, refreshed logo for its cloud platform

In a rather low-key way, Microsoft has unveiled a new branding for its Azure platform, which takes a more angular shape, similar to the Office logo. There's also a new tagline: Azure. Cloud for all.

Between all of the other announcements from day one of Microsoft's Ignite 2017, you'd be forgiven for not noticing a change that was unveiled with not much fanfare: Azure's new logo and tagline.

Instead of the cloud-shaped mark of old, the new branding brings Azure closer to Microsoft's overall theme, sporting a more angular look that's not too dissimilar to the Bing and Office logos. It's unclear why the company chose such a low-key way of refreshing the branding of one of its most profitable divisions. That said, the new identity can be seen in Microsoft's newly released so-called Azure manifesto, linked below.

In the clip above, the Redmond giant stresses that cloud computing is "at the core of how the world will do business", and that it is against "technology elitism" and the "cloud-only mindset".
