Misfit announces the Snapdragon Wear 3100-powered Vapor X

Misfit announced the Vapor X today, its latest smartwatch using Google's Wear OS. It's the latest Wear OS entry to use Qualcomm's newest wearable chipset, the Snapdragon Wear 3100, which unlocks new power management features with its big-small-tiny architecture, such as a color ambient display.

Weighing in at just 43g with its aluminum alloy chassis, Misfit says that this is its lightest smartwatch to date. It's 12mm thin with a 1.19-inch 328ppi AMOLED display, 4GB of storage, and 512MB of RAM. It supports things like NFC payments, untethered GPS, and a heart rate sensor. The Vapor X will come with more apps pre-installed, such as Spotify and a heart health app, Cardiogram.

"Misfit has long stood for creating wearables that introduce fans to the latest technology the market has to offer, while allowing them to express their personal style through our innovative designs. We know we have a unique opportunity with the launch of Misfit’s Vapor X to introduce our most innovative design and achieve our goals of empowering audiences,’" says Hacker Plotkin, Vice President. "Alongside this watch we are launching our ‘Dare to be Different’ campaign. The heart of the campaign spotlights individuals that represent who the brand is at its core -- innovators who have fun, dare to push boundaries and embrace what makes us all different. Being a Misfit means to be unique and unafraid in the best possible way, and we believe there is a Misfit inside all of us. We are so excited to be a part of their stories, and share them with our audiences around the globe."

Misfit says that this watch is part of its new 'Dare to be Different' campaign, featuring artists, athletes, and creatives that are "self-proclaimed misfits". It's available for purchase now from Misfit.com for a limited-time price of $199.99. The regular price will be $279.
