Xiaomi's spin-off brand Poco has unveiled its latest smartphone, the M3 Pro 5G. This budget handset offers a triple camera setup, high screen-to-body ratio, and an LCD that supports variable refresh rates.

At the core of the M3 Pro 5G is MediaTek's octa-core Dimensity 700 chipset. Based on 7nm fabrication, this chip packs in Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. The handset comes in 4 GB RAM + 64 GB internal storage and 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage variants. Moreover, you get a microSD card slot for storage expansion.

The M3 Pro 5G sports a 6.5-inch LCD with Full HD + resolution. As per Poco, its Dynamic Switch technology enables the screen to switch between 30 Hz to 90 Hz refresh rate based on the nature of the content. For instance, it will settle for 30 Hz if you are reading an article and peak at 90 Hz when you are playing video games. The display has a maximum brightness of 500 nits and is protected against scratches by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

The triple camera setup comprises a primary 48 MP sensor accompanied by a 2 MP depth and 2 MP macro lens. For selfies, Poco has thrown in an 8 MP snapper. The phone has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The onboard IR blaster can turn your phone into a universal remote.

In addition to 5G, the phone supports 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, 3.5 mm headphone jack, and USB Type-C port. The M3 Pro 5G holds a 5,000 mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. It runs Android 11 with Xiaomi's MIUI 12 on top.

Available in black, blue, and yellow, the Poco M3 Pro 5G will be up for purchase from June 14th via Flipkart. The base model with 4 GB RAM is pegged at Rs 14,000, which translates to $192. The 6 GB model will set you back for Rs 16,000 (approx. $220). As of now, the company hasn't shed any light on the phone's global rollout.
