Reading List now available for Windows Phone 8.1

Microsoft has launched a version of its Windows 8.1 Reading List app for Windows Phone 8.1, allowing users to save web-based articles and videos so they can be viewed later.

Hot on the heels of Microsoft launching a new video editing app, Movie Moments, for Windows Phone 8.1 comes word that the company has adapted its Reading List app as well.

Like the Windows 8.1 version, Reading List for Windows Phone 8.1 allows users to save pages from sites for offline viewing later and to put those articles in a list. The app even allows for those saved articles to be placed in a number of different categories. Articles can also be pinned to the Windows Phone Start screen in case users want to quickly get back to their story.

Articles can also be shared with others via Facebook and OneNote and recently deleted stories can be quickly restored. The app is supposed to sync with the Reading List app for Windows 8.1, but it looks like that feature isn't quite working yet.

Just a reminder: this app only works currently with the Windows Phone 8.1 Developer Preview. That means it won't work on smartphones that have Windows Phone 7.5 or 8.0 installed; Microsoft has not indicated if they plan to update Reading List so it supports those platforms.
