Samsung will launch an "emotional" LED case for the Galaxy S10 family

A new leak shows off one of Samsung's first-party accessories for the upcoming Galaxy S10 smartphones, and it looks like the firm will be offering some sparkle for its newest flagships.

Samsung has typically released fancy LED covers for its flagship smartphones, which make it easier to see your notifications, and even taking action on them without having to turn on the display or opening the case. For the Galaxy S10, however, it looks like Samsung will be adding some sparkles to the experience.

Twitter user Roland Quandt today shared some images of an LED cover for the Galaxy S10 family of smartphones with an "Emotional LED Lighting Effect". Basically, in addition to giving you notifications, the case can simply give your phone a bit more life when you're not using it. Apparently, by "emotional" Samsung means the case will look like a starry sky.

Of course, the usefulness of such a feature is questionable. The case's lights will likely be powered by the phone's battery, and having it on all the time without any added functionality is something that most users probably won't be interested in. Nonetheless, if you want to catch the attention of people around you, this is certainly one way to do it.

The Samsung Galaxy S10 family is set to be announced in a couple of days at the Unpacked event, and that's likely when we'll get confirmation on whether these cases are real. Rumors have pointed to a trio of smartphones being announced, and this case will reportedly be available for all three models.
