Skagen announces the Falster 3, a 42mm Wear OS watch with 1GB RAM

Today at CES, Skagen announced the Falster 3. The changes to the smartwatches design are described as "subtle", but it does have some new features. For example, you can now take calls when the device is paired with an iPhone, something that was previously exclusive to Android devices. Fossil announced the feature back in August, and it would seem that all of its brands are getting it.

There's a new limited edition style, out of the four total, which was made in partnership with X by KYGO. The Falster 3 will also include an X by KYGO dial, which is described as "inspiration from his Scandinavian heritage touting minimalist design features, all X by KYGO products are developed to produce exceptional sound, fitting every person perfectly."

"The Falster 3 represents everything SKAGEN stands for: beautiful, design-focused products that are functional for the way people live," says Hacker Plotkin, VP of SKAGEN. "We are equally thrilled about our partnership with X by KYGO, and the ability to bring audibles and wearables together- which we feel are the two biggest disruptors in the tech industry today. These are two Scandanavian brands with world class products and incredible attention to detail that are designed to enhance your life. An appreciation of simplicity and a thoughtful approach to how your time is spent are key elements in the Danish way of life—and we are excited to capture both through our smartwatches and our partnership with X by KYGO."

The Falster 3 is much more capable than its predecessors. Aside from Speaker (the ability to take calls on an iPhone), it has a Snapdragon Wear 3100 that's paired with 1GB RAM, and all of that comes in a 42mm package. It supports Tiles, the quick view feature in Wear OS that will let you see things like the Weather, Google Fit, and so on.

Cardiogram is an app that will provide insights on your heart rate data, and you can sign up for a premium plan to share that data with doctors and such. The watch is also getting an extended battery mode, which will let you use your watch for multiple days on a single charge.

The Skagen Falster 3 is available today for $295 in select markets.
