Apple's iPhone 8 topped global phone sales in May, pulling ahead from fifth place in April. Counterpoint, the firm that revealed the findings, put the move down to a strong ad campaign.
The market research firm Counterpoint Research revealed that Apple managed to lead the smartphone market in the UK followed by Samsung, Huawei, Alcatel, and Motorola for the third quarter of 2017.
The Chinese manufacturer passed Apple back in June, but July sales - and potentially August as well - show that the jump was not a fluke. The oddity is that none of Huawei's phones broke the top 10.
Market research team Counterpoint released a report revealing Samsung's Galaxy S4 as the global bestselling smartphone. Apple's iPhone and Nokia's Asha series also makes the list.
