Google has started rolling out Google Camera 8.1 for older Pixel phones that adds the Cinematic Pan feature from the Pixel 5 to them. It also brings a revamped camera UI with a sleeker interface.

With Android 11, Google will remove the camera picker UI for when third-party apps access the camera. Those apps will only be able to access the camera through the default camera app in the OS.

An update to the Google Camera app is rolling out for the Pixel phones which adds 8x zoom support on the Pixel 4 series while recording videos. It also adds a quick toggle for switching resolution.

An APK teardown of the Google Camera app extracted from the upcoming Pixel 4a points to Google working on adding 4K 60fps video recording mode to the app presumably for the upcoming Pixel 5.
