The UK's Competition & Markets Authority has given the go-ahead to O2 and Virgin Media to pursue a 50:50 joint venture. The deal is expected to close on June 1 and begin operations.
O2 and Virgin Media have agreed to a merger which could conclude by mid-2021 as long as regulators approve the move. The two firms are positioning themselves to take on BT which owns EE.
Virgin Media is set to begin hardware trials for its SuperHub v3 modem-router combo. The device was spotted at the IBC Exhibition being held in Amsterdam.
