ModernMix gives users the capability to run Windows 8 Modern (Metro) apps in resizable windows on the desktop.
During the Windows 8 lifecycle, the name for the store apps went from Metro to Modern but as we move forward with Windows 10, they will now simply be called Windows app.
Windows 10 brings with it many new features for modern apps, with the most notable being that you can run apps in a window, but you can also now create shortcuts on your desktop to the apps too.
More features have been discovered in the latest leaked build of Windows 8.1 Update 1, including jumplists for Modern apps, the taskbar now available for access at any time and more.
Another screenshot from Update 1 has leaked online and shows something really surprising: a modern version of the taskbar that appears when Modern apps are opened.
