Windows 10 Mobile Insiders finally have a new Slow ring build; 14342.1004 now available

Windows 10 Mobile Insiders on the Slow ring are finally being offered a new build, 14342.1004. It contains quite a few new features, as the last build that was offered to that ring was 14295.

Windows 10 Mobile users on the Slow ring have some good news today, as they are finally being offered a new build; 14342.1004, to be precise.

Build 14342 for Mobile was originally offered up to the Fast ring over two weeks ago. This was followed by build 14342.1003 and 14342.1004, which squashed some bugs in the main build. Once the battery issue was fixed in 14342.1004, along with a server-side issue that affected Insider settings, it would appear that the build is now ready for the Slow ring.

This is the first new build for the Slow ring since 14295.1005, so there are quite a few significant new features being offered today. Build 14295 was the last Insider Preview to be released before Microsoft's Build 2016 developer conference.

Inside the new update, you'll find loads of Cortana improvements, new icons in the Settings app, updated emoji, Edge improvements, a camera button on the lock screen, and quite a bit more. Messaging Everywhere is now available to you as well, assuming that you also have a PC that's on the Insider Preview.

If you're on the Slow ring, you can get build 14342.1004 by going to Settings -> Update & security -> Phone update -> Check for updates. If not, you can download the Windows Insider app and set it to Insider Slow. Any device that's officially supported for Windows 10 Mobile should be eligible for this build, along with the Nokia Lumia Icon.
