Xbox Games with Gold for July bring Splinter Cell: Conviction and more

Microsoft has announced what games it plans to giveaway to Xbox Live Gold members for the month of July. As usual, there will be two Xbox One and two Xbox 360 games up for grabs in the promotion, and the latter two are also available on the Xbox One thanks to backward compatibility.

Here are the four games incoming in July:

Assault Android Cactus (Xbox One, July 1 - 31)

Assault Android Cactus is an arcade style twin stick shooter set in a vivid sci fi universe. Junior Constable Cactus is outside her pay grade when she responds to a distress call and ends up stranded on a crippled space freighter under attack by its own robot workers.

Death Squared (Xbox One, July 16 - August 15)

Death Squared is a cooperative puzzle game for 1, 2 or 4 players, best enjoyed with loved ones who don't mind a little arguing for the greater good. Prove your teamwork skills in Death Squared as you solve puzzles together or die trying! Each player needs to guide a robot to a colour-coded goal, but the path is beset with deadly traps and hazards. Teams of players will need close observation and communication to keep each other alive and discover a solution together.

Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown 2 (Xbox 360, July 1 - 15)

Customize and fight as your favorite 17 characters from the Virtua Fighter franchise. This definitive version of the series includes an overhauled fighting mechanic, including “offensive mode,” a new strategic side-stepping ability to attack your enemy. Battle your way to the top and prove that you are the ultimate warrior.

Splinter Cell: Conviction (Xbox 360, July 16 - 31)

For years, Sam Fisher has been off the grid and on his own, chasing his daughter's murderer. But the trail leads to the last place Sam wants to see again: Washington D.C. Now Sam must work with old friends he can no longer trust, forced to save a country he no longer serves. For unless he can stand against both a vast, faceless enemy and the shadows of the past, he'll never know what happened to his daughter - or himself.

For Xbox Live Gold subscribers who missed out, there is still a few days remaining before Assassin's Creed Chronicles: Russia and Lego Indiana Jones 2 from the previous Games with Gold promotion come to an end. The Smite Gold Bundle will be available until July 15.

Meanwhile, the Xbox Game Pass is set to add 10 more games to its roster in July, including Vermintide 2, Fallout 3, DiRT 4, and more.
