You'll soon be able to use Amazon's Alexa to control your Nest thermostat

Nest announced today in a blog post that users of the Nest thermostat will soon be able to control it with Amazon's Alexa voice assistant. All devices that use Alexa are supported, including the Amazon Echo, Fire TV, Fire TV Stick, and the two devices that Amazon announced today, Echo Dot and Amazon Tap.

When the feature rolls out in a few weeks, users will be able to say "Alexa, set my bedroom thermostat to 68 degrees" or "Alexa, tell the thermostat that I’m too hot.” Users can also ask about the temperature or humidity. They can even tell it that they're leaving.

Nest also notes that if the user uses IFTTT (If This Then That), there are already over 50 recipes available to connect Alexa with Nest, as well as Works with Nest products.

As Nest said in its blog post, "It really feels like you’re living in the future."
