Yeah, there was a Zelda game on it.  I had it.  I played it for about 5 minutes, and didn't touch it.  I still have it.

The Legend of Zelda: The Faces of Evil.

Zelda got kidnapped, I believe though.... I dunno if you could play as Zelda, beacuse as I said, I couldn't play it with all its HORRIBLE graphics, and lame story.

If you have a scanner or perhaps a digital camera could you post that picture?

Haven't checked this thread out in a while, but saw your request today and here it is, it was a small picture in the mag but you can see the familiar early PlayStation logo on the unit, along with a familiar controller...

The article confirms that the working name for the unit was "PlayStation", and it was made by Sony employee Ken Kutaragi who also co-developed the SPC700 audio processor in the SNES. Kutaragi found out on his way to Nintendo HQ on the 29th of May 1991 that the big N had gotten cold feet and withdrawn from the project. The name PlayStation, according to Kutaragi, was chosen by himself because "a computer is a WorkStation, then of course a console has to be a PlayStation."

A quick rundown of the retro articles in the magazine (keep in mind, this is Sweden's biggest gamer's magazine!):

Milestones: A 10 page timeline of gaming history from Spacewar to XBox (10 pages)

Graphic Evolution: The evolution of games in images (2 pages)

Spacewar: The world's first computer game (5 pages)

Atari: The American Dream (5 pages)

Cultural Dusk: Where are the games going? (7 pages)

Mega Man: Life as a robot (7 pages)

Wonder Boy: A forgotten video game hero (7 pages)

Collections: 10 lessons in gaming history (2 pages)

Aside from this, that issue featured a CD with SID remixes compiled by C64Audio.com (the "Back in Time" team).

Other: XBOX

Its plays games from every last gen console (except dreamcast)... It does so many things and has the best online options out of any consoles which is what matters imho (single player games are almost all crap)

Btw this poll is stupid, the options are crap.

The only reason the Xbox is any good is because it emulates, you are right, but that's because it's basically a freak'n PC.

I still say PC is the best for gaming.. but since I wanted to choose a console (for the sake of this poll) I chose SNES.. ah the wonderful memories of all those hours spent in front of my TV with 16bit graphics...

Thanks for that information. It had me interested in learning about it. :)

And thanks to all who voted. I would've made the options better if I would've known this topic was going to get as big as it did. This was my first "hot topic". I even got an admin to post, I must've done something right.

The original Nintendo is the mother, father, grandaddy of ALL. The game console scene was pretty pathetic up until NES blew the market wide open.

True. I can highly agree with that. Until than, i was almsot always playing my old Atari 2600. My NES still works to this day. I'm surprised.
